The chairman of the South Carolina Democratic Party apologized for remarks she made about Gov. Sarah Palin.

South Carolina Democratic Party Chair Carol Fowler, facing criticism for her remark to Politico’s Alex Burns about Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, issues an apology:
“I personally admire and respect the difficult choices that women make everyday, and I apologize to anyone who finds my comment offensive. I clumsily was making a point about people in South Carolina who may vote based on a single issue. Whether it’s the environment, the economy, the war or a woman’s right to choose, there are people who will cast their vote based on a single issue. That was the only point I was attempting to make.”
Update: Also tonight, Rep. John Spratt (D-S.C.) put out a statement to say: “I cannot believe that Carol Fowler made such a statement, and I want to make it clear that she speaks for herself, and not for me or the Democratic Party.”
More Spratt: “Her statement about Governor Palin is outrageous and wrong, because Sarah Palin’s qualifications are quite evident.”
This is another example of the struggle the Democrats are facing as they try to attack Palin without being offensive or sexist.

It’s appreciable that he had the guts to go ahead and apologize for that error.
I guess he should. In my honest opinion, he did go a bit overboard this time around.
Well,atleast he had it in him to go up and apologize.

It is good that he apologize to Gov. Sarah Palin.
But from other side i can not remember that S.Palin
apologize to B.Obama when she states that Barack Obama “is not a man who sees America like you and I see America” or when she uses the term “terrorists” – unnamed, plural, and in general usage in America, often referring to Islamic radicals – rather than focusing on the one man in question.
I sent her an e-mail and I hope that it helped her realise the error of her ways. Why could she not have just stated above initially, rather than spew vomit like she did…

OK, as a lifelong discontented democrat from NJ now living in SC. I may not like McCain but you are seriously foolish, which explains alot as to why the Dem. party in SC is so ineffective. Do you not get it, he didn’t appoint her because she didn’t have an abortion, McCain didn’t pick her because of her looks.. He picked her because NOT EVEN 10 YEARS AGO, she was the very same woman (average Jane) that you see at the grocery store. She was NOT brought up in some political machine, she was very much the average woman, and she can RELATE to the average woman/man more so than THAN ANYONE on our ticket or McCain himself.
You have failed to recognize that SHE has set the republicans grass roots on fire and SHE is responsible for the major bump that McCain has received. If Senator Biden performs badly in the debate with her, it will have serious ramifications for Mr. Obama. I do not like her, but from talking to friends at work, on the street and online. She is today what Barack was 8 months ago. Except her fresh wind is blowing at the time that it needs too, not in New Hampshire in January.
Your comments have only caused MANY MANY people to question your judgement and your ability to lead. I personally will look forward to when a new face will run this party in SC some day soon. This Yankee is embarrassed by you.
