Too many newspapers have become highly partisan. This past election campaign during which they openly and routinely supported Obama without doing any investigative reporting into his background nor ask compelling questions when interviewing him . This was the final point at which many citizens left the newspapers except for the Wall Street Journal. Even people who held left wing viewpoints were aware they were getting one side of the picture. Such onesided reporting (if it can even been called reporting) has continued as the media failed to question or cover anything negative to Obama. Trust left long ago.
The media hasn’t been helped either by Obama’s partisanship in which he tried to shun Fox News. nor has it helped when Obama attempts to demonize those who don’t agree with him. The partnership is hurting both media and Obama. Even the most ill informed voter knows instinctively that every issue has two sides.
Newspapers particularily seem oblivious to their own self destructive tendencies. Observe what is happening to the White House reporters who are being ignored by the president in order that he and his aides further control the message from the White House. Consider the reporters who dare write something negative about Obama. They find themselves left off the presidential airplane when trips are made. Failure to be open and non-partisan during the campaign has led them to their present situation.
