Powell Growing Concerned About Obama

By Don  |  July 4, 2009

Colin Powell who supported Barack Obama for president is growing concerned about his agenda.

From the Politico

Colin Powell, who has not been shy about criticizing his own party, reflects a bit of Washington CW in raising mild doubts about President Obama's agenda in an interview slated to air on John King's "State of the Union" this Sunday.

Per excerpts in this a.m.'s Playbook:

KING: So, it’s early but you're a little worried? Is that a fair way to put it?

POWELL: Yes, yes. I'm a little concerned. Concerned would be a better way. I'm concerned at the number of programs that are being presented, the bills associated with these programs and the additional government that will be needed to execute them.

KING: As you go forward — you say you talk to his people. What's your relationship with him?

    POWELL: Very good.

KING: Talk to him much? Does he seek your advice?

POWELL: I have met with him not too long ago. I don't insert myself. But, we stay in touch.

Maybe Powell is concerned but Obama seems to ahve taken a "What, me worry?" attititude as the country sinks slowly into the abyss.

If it was in the cards that the U.S. had to have an African-American President at this time - I would have preferred Colin Powell.  I also believe that if McCain had selected Powell or Charlie Crist as his running mate - he may well have won the ‘08 election.

Yeah colin no kidding.  What did you expect from the “transformational candidate”.  What do you get in exchange for following Orders, quisling?

Colin Powell is indeed the man who should have been the first black POTUS.

He was a fine soldier and an equally fine statesman.

As always his remarks in this case are well thought-out. Do not expect ill-considered comments from this gentleman -just keep asking him his views as the situation develops.

I am confident that he already sees the shortcomings that Obama demonstrates -but he will not make a premature judgement. Neither should we!

There will be plenty of time for us and for Colin Powell to see that Obama is an empty suit.

The question then is -“What will we do to remedy the mistake?”

It is the answer to THAT question that now is all-important!

From article - [Colin Powell who supported Barack Obama for president is grwoing concerned about his agenda.]

I, for one, could never vote for Powell as he’s shown himself to be way too clueless to be an effective leader. His naivete of Obama before the election, of Obama’s radical associations and Senate voting record, and then acting surprised at the actions of an elected Obama, makes me question the fitness for office of Powell as a potential presidential candidate.

To me, Powell seems to be as much of a ‘loose cannon’ as McCain.

“... He was a fine soldier and an equally fine statesman. ...” - Jock

He was a fine soldier 45 years ago… he became a fine technocrat who in 1991 put lipstick on a very old, very ugly pig and adoring sycophants in the media congress called it “The Powell Doctrine.” His career is a prime example of failure causing untold death and destruction being tarted up as military and political brilliance.

See my comments on that fiasco here:

Then of course, there’s the same example exemplified by Wesley Clark and his Balkan fiasco…
