I look forward to the day when the NYT, LA Times, Wash. Post, Newsweek, etc. are all out of business and their leftist reporters are on the street.  They and their stock holders deserve to be bankrupt because the stock holders and board of directors have never held them accountable for the garbage they publish.  Also it would plug a major government leak.

They will probably be next in line to request a huge bailout by the government.  That’s the direction our country is going right now.  If the government is handing out billions in free money, any business that is dying will make their demands for a share of it.

I hope that Rupert Murdock buys the NYT and turns them into a paper version of Fox News.  Not only would that piss off every lib in the world it would actually produce a good product.

Regarding the decline of readership of America’s newspapers – since only about 2/3 to 3/4 of high school graduates can read at the 8th grade level – and practically none at the 12th grade level – it would stand to reason newspapers are losing readers.

Just another stepping stone in the dumbing-down of America.

I spent the last ten years of my professional life teaching computer classes in a community college.  I had students with high school diplomas that dropped or failed my classes because they could not read and comprehend the text books.  They could all point and click, but the brain was often not engaged.

We found something to agree on, American youth is illiterate.  Maybe this is the hope that the black messiah talks about.

That quote nails it right into the heart of the reasons for the bailouts, illegal immigration, political corruption, senseless drawn-out wars, U.S. imperialism, racial divide, and the new age-socialism that our once-great country is suffering under.
One can only blame the politicians to a certain degree, as it’s been the ignorant populace who keeps voting the demons of both Parties into office, time after time, over the past century.

Until people wise up and start voting for true Constitutionalists, our journey into darkness will continue in perpetuity.

To some degree, the “ignorant populace” description is surely truer than true.  It seems everyone today is totally self-centered on his or her own welfare and real or imagined personal “necessities” – so much so, that far too many people seem to generally be pretty ignorant of anything else going on around them – and that “me”-oriented selfishness seems to preclude any real possibility of a developing any kind of unity of the “United We Stand” kind.

However, while the concept of “The New World Order” goes back to the 1890s, and while Wilson’s “League of Nations” MIGHT have been a precursor to an actual attempt to bring the “globalist” concept about – I really don’t think a “real” effort got underway until the later part of the 20th century and the days of Henry Kissinger and the Nixon administration – and I think it was probably promoted more by Kissinger rather than by Nixon.

To me, it seems most of the progress made towards at least the “one-world economy” idea (if not the “one-world government” idea) has taken place nopt over the last centurey but, rather, over the last 35 years, or so – and may now be pretty close to fruition (???)

There seems to be little doubt that international “Big Business” now seems to be running the show!

What aggravates me concerning the “ignorant populace” is the general apathy that permeates too many Americans in regards to the political landscape and the imminent repercussions which we’ve suffered as a consequence. Some of these repercussions involve racial strife, unnecessary wars, a valueless dollar due to the existence of a central bank, etc. So few of us realize that freedom, prosperity, and peace go hand in hand with a mature, self-informed public and that being an American means a little more than just residing here.

I read an interesting article recently, (Samuel Blumenfeld-WorldNetDaily, 11/11/08) explaining how an inexperienced young man such as Obama could win his Party’s nomination over someone who’s been around a lot longer like Hillary. He pointed out the fact that Obama, along with every other presidential nominee from the past century with the exception of Barry Goldwater, was given the ‘seal of approval’ by the Council On Foreign Affairs. Because Goldwater’s opponent, Rockefeller, was booed at the Republican Convention, “the finance-controlled media came down on Goldwater like a ton of bricks.”
Even Reagan, for all his grandiose speeches, was far from being the Conservative icon that many thought, and governed within the acceptability of the CFR. As it turned out, he ended up raising taxes four times during his first term after the initial tax cut. He also raised corporate taxes, bailed out Social Security, failed to get rid of the Depts. of Energy and Education that he promised to do, created a new Department (Veterans Affairs), opened the Pandora’s Box of amnesty for illegals, and put O’Connor and Kennedy on the Supreme Court. Sounds more like the policies of a Centrist.
It was the forum member ‘Dave’ who, in a discussion I had with this past summer, planted a seed of curiosity in my head regarding the real Reagan which encouraged me to look further into the man. “Dave, wherever you are, thank you.”

It was the creation of the Fed and, in my opinion, its role in causing the Great Depression and resulting New Deal, that served as the catalyst of our continuing downturn, which is why I go a bit further back in history than you do.

regarding the timeframe of movement toward “one – world government or New World order etc. has really accelerated in the last 35 years. However, what seems most intriguing is the incrementalism that is utilized each election cycle. But with this election … Whoa nellie!!!… it was the most brazen of agendas pushing toward one-world/new world “whatever”.

This is evidenced from the medias fawning over BHO,the financial crisis and subsequent bailout, and the blatant general move toward socialism.

As far as the “blatant general move toward socialism”, I feel we’ve been dealt a series of devastating blows that have certainly inflicted that putrid political system onto this once great republic. The creation of a central bank, just in itself, introduced too much governmental control and caused a tragic series of ripple effects afterward. This included the Depression, runaway deficits, a weak dollar, inflation, the New Deal and Great Society programs, our transition from a creditor nation into a debtor nation, weakening of our manufacturing base, and our unnecessary involvements in WW1, Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, and ultimately, our practice of American imperialism.
Most of our massive defense spending budget is allotted towards foreign intervention schemes and not national security. It has been this, more so than the subprime mortgage debacle, that is most responsible for our currently crippled financial situation; although I still feel that the Community Reinvestment Act should be abolished and that predatory lending crimes should suffer stiff penalties.

I definitely agree with your concern over the fawning media in regards to Obama. From numerous articles I’ve been reading, there seems to be something to the situation concerning his birth certificate. Not even Fox News with it’s ‘right- wing’ hosts, is touching this important story, as well as Limbaugh.

I agree with much of what you say.

They used to say “All politics are local!” – but, today – with all the self-centered “Me-ism” that’s taken over society – I think the updated version of the statement is – “All politics are personal!”

Regarding world and domestic politics and affairs, I think most people today are, at best, “single-issue” oriented, i.e., their only concern is with the one issue they’ve determined AFFECTS THEM THE MOST.  And, of course, if they perceive NONE do – they become wholly “uninterested” (and wholly uninformed).  Ordinarily, maybe most people are/were in this latter category – until the economy tanked and maybe, again, some have “awakened” to this particular issue because the declining economy has a direct affect on their personal lives. (???)

Similarly, while some issue (like The New World Order) might have a history going back some 120 years – and while some world leader, like Wilson, might have directly promoted the concept politically, I also believe most ACTIVE political trends exist only over a much shorter period of time – maybe only 15-25 years.  While today’s economic problems may have roots going back to some of the events to which you refer – I do think “globalism” and “internationalism” (both in politics and economics) have been recently and significantly ACTIVE only for the past 25 or so years.  Although – it is shocking to see how much progress in that regard the globalists and internationalists have made – and, probably, due to the inattention and lack of interest of the populace.

I agree with your assessment of society’s “Me-ism” in regards to politics, although when you think about it, Tip O’Neill’s “All politics is local” statement implies the same idea. That is, which politician will bring back the most pork to their district.
In my view, the way to conduct oneself in regards to choosing their leaders is to allow themselves to open their minds as well as their hearts. This would mean not voting along the Party line because of tradition or ‘us against them’ rational, but instead, what benefits society the most in the long run.
I cannot think of any other vehicle to get us to that state of peace, prosperity, and general well-being than to follow the Constitution of our Forefathers and ideally, to give the Misesian theory of economic policy a whirl.

As far as the declining economy having a direct affect on people’s personal lives resulting in some purported interest on their part in this particular issue – One has to wonder how last spring’s primaries would have turned out, had the financial crises been made known before the primary’s, instead of after the Party nominees were chosen.

As far as The New World Order, I never bought into it in the way that we’ve had ‘puppet masters’ controlling everything, policy-wise, over the past century, although I wouldn’t dismiss it with a closed mind. But if the concept of ‘puppet-masters’ were true, then all of our major elections would have been fixed as well, which I think is a stretch. While it’s probably true that certain politicians are approved by the Council on Foreign Relations and thus given favorable government controlled media coverage, we as voters were never forced to vote for them. However, since most of the electorate has shown themselves to be sufficiently malleable in being influenced by what they are exposed to in the media, the CFR-approved candidates usually get in.

The domestic economic ‘ripple effects’ that I feel resulted from the establishment of a central bank, to me, are consequences, and not orchestrated events emanating from some monolithic power structure. Wars are a different matter, in that I feel that the government power structure involved us in conflicts for nefarious reasons. If they sensed the public was not motivated for getting into a conflict, they made sure they got them motivated, (ie, allowing the torpedoing of the Lusitania to get us into WWI, the ‘surprise attack’ on Pearl Harbor, Gulf of Tonkin incident to get us into Vietnam, etc.

I don’t think there’s a conspiratorial and direct “fix” involved but, rather, that all “successful” national-level politicians are “selected” and put into the game similarly to the way a very limited and “exclusive” fraternity exerts an influence on and manipulates its members – - maybe like Yale’s “Skull and Bones Society” – - or, maybe even like the Masons.

Being members of those fraternity’s certainly gives it’s members a political advantage, just as being rubber-stamped by the CFR has been shown to have its benefits. Just look at what they did to Goldwater.

When you brought up Skull and Bones and Masons, that reminded me of a topic a relative of mine introduced me to, and that I hit the floor laughing when I first heard of it; namely, The Bohemian Grove.
Imagine, a bunch of corrupt, middle-aged politicians gathering together,(I believe naked) performing a ceremony involving the burning of a baby effigy for sacrificial purposes to swear their allegiance to some Tri-lateral or whatever power structure.
Come to think of it, I shouldn’t be surprised by the existence of such an organization.
