Obama’s Gun Check

The NRA thinks the Obama administration may be going a bit too far in asking potential officials about whether or not they own a gun.

Question 59 on the Obama Transition Team’s intrusive and extensive list of questions for potential officials of the Obama administration:
“Do you or any members of your immediate family own a gun? If so, provide complete ownership and registration information. Has the registration ever lapsed? Please also describe how and by whom it is used and whether it has been the cause of any personal injuries or property damage.”
The question has raised the ire of the National Rifle Association.
“Gun Owners Need Not Apply?” the organization asks. “Obama Personnel Questionnaire Shows Anti-gun Bias…the questionnaire does not ask similar questions about any other type of personal property. For example, applicants are not asked to list any cars they own, who drives the cars, or what accidents the cars have been involved in—even though far more deaths and injuries each year involve motor vehicles than involve firearms.”
The new administration is trying to avoid being blindsided by any surprises but they may be getting a little too big brotherish for comfort.

I guess the important question is whether this is an unusual question in a list of this sort. If not, what’s the big deal? If so, well, then it could be a problem.
Guess the Obama team does not want any NRA members in their administration. That may well indicate that this Obama presidency is going to try their utmost to restrict gun use and ownership. The liberals and Democrats know that for them to advocate Gun Laws,they must set an example themselves.
What scares me is this might well be the beginning of a repressive regime in Washington. And a step to the far left that sees gun owners as threats that may challenge them when this administration sells American sovereignty and constitutional freedoms and guarantees for some sort of membership in the emerging World Government. The New World Order does not want it citizenry capable of defending themselves from the excesses of State control or defending the constitution from would be dictators

“Beginning?” Where’ve you been the last 8 years, Tony?
You know, ANYBODY can go out and very easily come up with illegal drugs of every kind and description - and any other product or service that’s currently “illegal”. So why would anyone become paranoid about “guns”! “Illegal” or not, I have no doubt I could ALWAYS get one if I wanted one!
(Abortions were as readily available to high schoolers in the 1950s (when they were “illegal” and way before Roe vs. Wade) as they are today - and I have relatives who became millionaires during Prohibition selling “illegal” booze.)
The GOP’s “base” (and the paranoids therein) should forget the “babies, bibles and guns” mantra and focus on everyday problem issues that are really significant to ALL of us!
Is there a question on the application that asks if the prospective employee ever took cocaine or heroin? Nope, guess not. Or how about, “Were you born in Kenya?” or “Do you know anyone in Kenya?” or “Do you have any experience replicating documents?” or “Are you of the Muslim faith?” or “How often do you lie?” or “Do you like socialism?” or “Would you enjoy destroying capitalism and the American way of life?” NO? We’ll put your name in our file. Good bye.

The beginning steps to the downfall of democracy. 1) they will ask us to check our guns at the door
2) they implement a “special” police (Dept of Peace)
3) they take control of the media (mostly accomplished, but complete with the Fairness Act)
4) they begin issuing propaganda (Farenheit 911, “W”, Dept of Education)
5) special camps will be established for the “safety” of certain people
