Obama: Republicans are ‘Working the Refs’

ABC News' Jake Tapper managed to ask Barack Obama about the sexism charges relating to Gov. Sarah Palin.
At a press availability just now in York, Penn., I had an opportunity to ask Sen. Barack Obama, D-Illinois, about the pushback from Republicans that the way a lot of the media and Democrats – including some from his campaign -- have reacted to Gov. Palin’s appointment has been sexist, dismissive of the work she's accomplished, and different than how they would act if she were a male.
"Listen," Obama said, "if they want to work the refs they are free to do so, and I think the public can make their judgments about this.
"You know the notion that any questions about her work in Alaska is somehow not relevant to her potentially being Vice President of the United States, doesn’t make too much sense to me," he continued. "I think she’s got a compelling story, but I assume that she wants to be treated the same way that guys want to be treated -- which means that their records are under scrutiny."
Obama noted, "I’ve been through this for 19 months. She’s been through it, what for four days so far?"
The problem for Obama is that if Palin and the GOP are working the refs is that all the calls are going against him.

Amazing, isn’t it? He’s been through this for18 months and still no report on his CAC files? The pubic at large knows very little about Frank Davis, Alice Palmer, Rashid Khalidi, Ali Abuninah, bundlers, and that Rezko was not only a friend but a slumlord in his old district.
Oh yes,the press has been very hard him. If you want information, you have to dig it our yourself-when a radio station tries to present information on Ayers and Obama, like local station WGN-thousands of followers call in to disrupt- or he sends the DOJ after groups like AIP.
You guys ought to take it easy on him. Even though Michelle Obama was stumping for him and in his service when she made certain remarks, you ought to leave her alone.
Is anyone ever going to vet him??
Did you read the piece where he is now privy to high security briefings because he is a “major candidate”, and has not had security clearings by the FBI or CIA…and does not have to get them now?
What a system. I wonder who is guiding him through it…somebody is mentoring this guy who knows how to work it.
From what I saw of Mrs. Palin the other day…I say, PALIN: 2013!(I guess we can put up with McCain for 4 years to get that).
If Obama’s statements are not a clear indication that his campaign is partially responsible for the sexism towards Palin over the last week, then I don’t what else could be.
They will continue to send out all of their liberal women to attack Palin. I wouldn’t even be surprised to see Clinton come out of her sorrow long enough to take a few shots as well. Bring it on liberals! Palin will chew you up.
As I’ve written on my blog (wordpress) Palin is not a “woman” to the liberals—she is their prey. It’s only OK to be a tough, modern woman if you’re liberal and feminist…
Janet Daley of the Telegraph UK - had a great article yesterday on Palin stating that the press treated Thatcher in a similar manner.
BTW - I was very impressed with all the humanitarian work that Cindy McCain has done-and all without fanfare. Some well-know lib blogs have portrayed her as a dumb blonde. (and worse)

He’s been “through this for 19 months..” and WE STILL HAVEN’T SEEN A VALID U.S. BIRTH CERTIFICATE;
ONLY WHAT APPEARS TO BE A ‘CERTIFICATE OF LIVE BIRTH,’ WHICH IS NOT THE SAME. That can be issued long after the actual birth… SO, AT THIS POINT, I DON’T BELIEVE OBAMA EVEN HAS A VALID
U.S. BIRTH CERTIFICATE TO BRING FORTH, & to me, that is VERY QUESTIONABLE as to his eligibility.
SHOW ME THE REAL THING, OBAMA. My inquiring mind wants to know.
IF… IF he was born in Hawaii, that shouldn’t cause any problem. My husband,79 and I, 74, got
copies of ours a few years ago. No problem. So WHAT IS HIS BIG PROBLEM?
I cannot vote for a President of the United States who can’t even prove, by a valid U.S. Birth Certificate, that HE IS LEGALLY ELIGIBLE TO BE PRESIDENT! And if he were to produce one NOW, at this late date, I wouldn’t accept it unless it was subject to rigorous forensic examination by the best experts possible. Personally, I don’t think FactCheck is such an entity.
Considering his past school records, which show him as Barry Soetoro, and IF I could make out the religion from what I saw of it, it said
Islam. His brother and some earlir friends said he was Muslim. Did Mr. Soetoro adopt “Barak?” If not, why was his name changed to Barry Soetoro? Wouldn’t THAT make him ineligible? Oh, James Bond would love this. Did no state/federal gov’t ever ask him if he used or been know by another name? Would like to know his answer,if it was asked.
When he was newly elected to the UNITED STATES
Senate, he went back to Kenya, where his paternal family roots are, and THERE, he criticized THEIR PRESIDENT, and stood on the platform with the opponent, Odinga. So much bloodshed and civil unrest followed that the President gave a power share type thing to Odinga!
WHY WAS THAT A PRIORITY FOR A BRAND NEW U.S.
SENATOR? DOES THAT SPEAK WELL OF HIS “FOREIGN RELATIONS” EXPERIENCE? It raises questions in my mind. To what country IS his alligeance?
Why did HIS ‘camp’ WARN TV STATIONS NOT TO SHOW AN AD BY A NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION, AND ASK THE JUSTICE DEPT. TO INTERVENE? THAT isn’t an attempt to gag the “free press” (media?)? What was he afraid of in that ad? Was that ad about hsis relationships with members of what was the Weathermen members?

His hands in front of him as America was being honored; his TAKING THE AMERICAN FLAG OFF HIS AIRPLANE AND PUTTING A BIG O ON IT; his messing around with the Presidential Seal: I believe that doesn’t even hint at patriotism or “proud to be an American.”
Truly, I just CANNOT understand how this man became a US Senator without showing a valid U.S.
birth certificate. CAN HE (or just anyone)GET HIGH (OR LOW) SECURITY CLEARANCE WITHOUT SHOWING A VALID U.S. BIRTH CERTIFICATE? If so, don’t you think THAT ought to be tighten up a lot?
The Senate investigated McCain: HE PASSED. THEY PASSED OVER OBAMA for equal investigation of eligibility. WHY? My inquiring mind wants to know.

Hey Obraniac, no one one is objecting to questions abput her WORK in Alaska. Petulance is not a sexy male trait. It also makes a vulnerable leader.
The truth will come out about this man before the election. The mainstream media can only cover for so long before some industrious soul decides he/she wants a Pulitzer and does some actual investigative reporting.

Obama 19 months of experience as Washington politics. Palin is zero.
But the danger of Obama is not washington politics. It’s the dirty socialist Chicago politics.
can anyone tell me how we get anyone in the “Main-stream” media to stop sleeping with Obama and get up enough patrionism and truth in their hearts(not to mention a “SET OF TESTICLES”!)to do what so many of us “true"Americans want? to know just exactly what is behind the “REAL” Obama. i have been following,studying,researching and paying attention to all the candidates since the beginning of this fiasco.i pick candidates by what i have learned,not by their political “bull….”. i know in my heart when someone is trying to pull the wool over my eyes…...and i can truly see that is precisely what Obama is doing to so many Americans. please America,we can not have a “Used Car Salesman” as our leader!this is very serious! do not fall for his tactics that hold no substance.so,someone please tell me how we get the “Truth,the whole truth,and Nothing But the Truth” out of this guy!
No one is going to convince the press to be fair-because they’re mostly liberals who want the liberal agenda passed - I write a blog and I write emails to people giving news from the few who do tell the whole story.

And if Obamamania persists and he gets into the White HOuse, Madam Pelosi and he will enact the Fairness doctrine so fast your head will spin and that will silence most of talk radio. OR they will appoint their henchmen to the FCC and it will have the same effect. Our best hope is spreading the word and, as another writer said, looking upward. Prayer can move mountains.

I think the liberals just can’t tolerate what they have been dishing out for as long as many of us have been alive. But I will give Obama credit for reacting in a dignified manner. Unlike Gloria Steinem, Harry Reid, and other nazi-like leftists.
