In what was meant to be an ironic cover, the liberal New Yorker magazine is drawing criticism from Barack Obama’s campaign.

An illustration by Barry Blitt depicts Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., and his wife Michelle in the Oval Office, revealing their “true” selves: Michelle is in full revolutionary garb, an enormous afro making her look like a millennial Angela Davis, holding an automatic weapon and wearing military pants.
In the cartoon Michelle is giving dap, or fist-bumping, with her husband who is wearing a turban and is dressed in garb perhaps more appropriate for a madrassa in Lahore than the Oval Office.
A painting of Osama bin Laden hangs above the fireplace, where the American flag is being burned.
Still the criticism is rather muted compared to what would have happened if a conservative publication had done the same thing.

Being “black” has become a relative thing in the USA. Recall that Clinton actually got away with referring to himself as the “first black president.” His rationale being that he played the sax, liked fatty, fried foods, and couldn’t remain faithful to his marriage vows.
Obama’s “blackness” derives itself from the double-standard of many urban black Americans. You know, the people who will take offense at a facial expression, the angle of a hat, or the words “you people,” yet see nothing wrong with walking down the street shouting all manner of profanity.
No conservative publication would DARE to publish such a satire!
Remember, according to Obama’s campaign, if you dare to criticize him, that means you are a racist, pure and simple, end of story.
Obama has set back race relations in this country by at least forty years, if not much longer.
Intelligent African-Americans call him a maggot. A hypocrite. A megalomaniac. A demagogue. A traitor to democracy.
No wonder some people consider him to be the anti-Christ. He acts as though he is the second coming of Christ. Bad sign, folks!
If Obama is so thin-skinned that he takes offense at this fairly tame illustration, a “President Obama” can be depended upon to fall apart under the criticism of Ahmadinejad, Chavez, Kim and the other political nasties of the world.
Chavez referred to Bush as a “Nazi.” How would Obama react if Chavez refers to him using the OTHER “n-word?”
All other criticisms aside, the guy is obviously far too immature even for the job he currently has.
