MSNBC Benches Olbermann for RNC

By Don  |  September 5, 2008

Trying to regain their footing cable network MSNBC kept anchor Keith Olbermann in New York to cover the Republican convention while sending Chris Matthews to St. Paul.

From TV Newser.

MSNBC was looking for some fireworks that would help boost their ratings during the political conventions, but the fireworks came on-air instead.

This week at the RNC, the tone is different. Broadcasting & Cable's Joel Topcik notes MSNBC is, "pulling itself together and looking like a news network again."

Of course, there's a major difference in the coverage this week — Keith Olbermann, their lead anchor, is in New York.

Matthews wants the public to believe that he and Olbermann get along, but the bickering is likely to continue at least privately if not publicly.

Keith Olbermann is not a people friendly reporter.
He is so biased. In my opinion he seems so bitter and sarcastic about life in general.
He is a definate turn off.My wife and I always change the channel anytime he starts trying to impress everyone with his ridiculous comments and big words.

News?  I thought they were really bad comedians.  Really, the two most obnoxious on tv.  Nothing that can be done to make these two over.  Not to mention the constant gay references.  It gets disgusting after awhile.  If that’s the audience you’re targeting, then I guess your rating will continue to be low.

How about they tell the truth.  How about the be ojective.  How about they search out the truth and ask about that.  It’s funny that when I ask someone to give me the truth about Obama, they run like little children.  When you ask anyone voting for him what his plan is, they can’t tell you, or they name free socialist programs that will be paid for by the 5 percent rich.  Seems to me that Obama is attracting the young and the stupid.
