Former Alaska Gov. continues to attract large crowds on her nationwide book tour but the mainstream media prefers to lowball the numbers.
From ABCNews.com
Judging from the crowd lining up to see Sarah Palin in Fort Wayne, Ind., this morning, one wouldn't be able to tell that the former GOP vice presidential candidate lost a political race here.
At a Meijer superstore in the town this morning, a line of people snaked through the Christmas aisles and out into the garden center.
At 10 a.m., the store gave out 1,000 wristbands to people who were allowed to purchase up to two copies of Palin's new memoir, "Going Rogue: An American Life," and then have it signed by the former Alaska governor, who came to the book signing at noon.
If Wednesday night's book signing in Grand Rapids, Mich., is the model, Palin spent about five seconds with each customer.
In this story ABC News has been very careful to only mention how many people received wristbands and not to give an overall crowd estimate so as to more closely match the headline which was meant to downplay Palin's popularlity.
Maybe ABC should have consulted with the Ft. Wayne-News Sentinel which reported that there were some 1,200 eager autograph seekers and that it was so chaotic inside the store that it required 16 police officers to maintain order as the store isn't designed for such an event.
If this event had been the first stop on Palin's book tour maybe ABC could be excused for such sloppy and incomplete reporting but it wasn't and it has become clear that everywhere the former vice-presidential candidate goes she attracts large and loyal crowds and that is just a little too much for the mainstream media to handle.

Or is it that ABC didn’t create Palin? It seems that instead of just reporting the news now, the emphasis seems to be on shaping the news or the message… or being an actual part of the news story itself. Palin doesn’t play well into this style of reporting because she is an authentic person. She is what she is. You like her for what she is or not. The media has issues with that apparently.
