Just as a resurgence by John McCain only a month ago was helping candidates on the down ticket the reverse may be true in Michigan after McCain pulls out.

The decision by John McCain’s campaign to yank field staff out of Michigan could pull the carpet from under the state’s two vulnerable House Republicans and leave them in serious political jeopardy, statewide GOP operatives said.
The move threatens to hurt the prospects of Reps. Joseph Knollenberg and Tim Walberg, both of whom have been targeted by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee for well over a year. The absence of an active McCain ground game raises the specter that some Republicans could stay home on Election Day, aiding the pair’s Democratic challengers.
“It makes it more difficult. We’re reallocating resources here internally to adjust the best we can,” said Michigan Republican Party Chairman Saul Anuzis. “This is a significant hit from a financial standpoint. They pulled out all the mail efforts, the get-out-the-vote and TV advertising. That’s a million-dollar effort that would have assisted as part of the overall team effort here.”
The GOP was relatively upbeat after their national convention and with good reason as McCain was doing well in the polls. But an economic crisis that the Democrats and the media have effectively but unfairly pinned totally on the Republicans and an uneven performance to date from vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin threatens to turn turn into a tsunami for the GOP at the polls in November.

Grumpy McCrankypants can’t make a point to save his own sinking ship. He comes off as feeble, as grumpy, and as out of touch as he is. He is the only one that believes his own hype – he’s not fooling anyone anymore. John McCain 2000 would not vote for John McCain 2008. He has become another shameless hack that gave up everything he once stood for.
He’d rather lose his soul than lose an election.
He’s lost both.
McCain would screw up a wet dream. McCain should have to take remedial classes on how to operate a campaign – this idiot keeps wanting to be bi-partisan when the enemy is out to slit his throat. He will either go for Obama’s jugular tonight in the debate, as Palin is doing while campaigning, or he can write this one off. It is no suprise to me that the financial disaster came exactly when it did – these liberal criminals are the lowest.
Anybody wonder why it couldn’t of happened six months ago, or six months from now, that it HAD to happen right NOW? Coincidence? It takes a gullible person to believe that just when Obama was behind in the polls, that this just had to happen right now. And while McCain tried to warn about it, and Obama made a fortune of off it, now Obama is helped by it and McCain and all Republicans are hurt. That’s being gullible. We can only hope that Americans see the truth in the thirty days to go – but if they do, Obama is toast.
And McCain needs to tell them that clearly every chance he can. Not when he is on the stump as he is preaching mostly to the faithful. He has to have a national audience and he won’t get it from the MSM, all they will do is aid Obama and trash McCain. So these last two debates are where McCain HAS to talk to the people – he has to clearly get them to understand that Obama will destroy any economic recovery, and he is the only one to be trusted with making things better quicker.
