Job Creation Site Scrubs Phantom Districts

After reports surfaced in the media that the Obama administration’s much heralded job creation web site www.recovery.gov listed as many as 440 congressional districts receiving stimulus funds that didn’t exist, the phantom districts are now classified as unassigned.

The 440 phantom districts found on the government’s stimulus tracking web site have been replaced.
Recovery.org has taken down all of the phantom districts–that is districts that received money without actually existing. The 12 phantom districts in Virginia, for example, have been consolidated into one category: unassigned congressional district. It appears that the administration, embarrassed by the fallout of New Mexico Watchdog’s discovery of these discrepancies, is now looking to retrace what actual districts received the $6.4 billion distributed to the phantoms.
This is a far cry from the response that Ed Pound, spokesman for the Recovery Accountability and Transparency Board, gave a Montana Policy Institute reporter on Monday. Pound told reporters that the problem would not be resolved until the next data collection cycle in January.
Luckily, Watchdog.org has preserved Recovery.org’s most recent data on the 440 UFD’s (Unidentified Funded Districts) of the stimulus package.

The situation is so bad that David Obey, a Wisconsin Democrat and chairman of the House Appropriations Committee, said, “When you cite the jobs created in congressional districts that don’t exist, I think that strikes anyone from the White House on down as being more than stupid,” He added, “In my judgment, someone who doesn’t know which congressional district they’re in doesn’t have enough of a clue to receive taxpayer money in the first place.”
Well Obama wanted bipartisanship and now that Obey has joined Republicans in criticizing the error riddled site. But that may not be the kind of change he was looking for.

I am in the 2nd Congressional District Rep. Ted Poe (where it is clean, nice, and in a very wooded spread out area), we even have quite a few Black, Hispanic, Asian, (all Legal Immigrants) population in our area, we know most of them, however most of them are Republicans, good down to earth patriotic loving people. Thank God I am not in the 18th, where Shelia Jackson Lee is…Of course she has Wards 1 through 5, no one goes to those Wards unprotected.

There is a bit more left from the $787 Billion now up around $560 Billion left…So why do we need another $200 Billion for new Stimulus? Given the lies on http://www.recovery.org (making up new districts showing Jobs being created, which do not exist) such as the one in Blooming Grove, Tx. where 5 part time people were paid a total of $30,000 in stimulus to do painting. Upon completion of the project, they were asked how many hours they put into the project, they answered; 450 hours. On the site, that was noted as 450 new jobs. Pure and simple lies, and as I have said over and over again, it is impossible to “Count” Saved Jobs…Period! They were showing a state with 7 Districts, had jobs showing up in the 49th District. Only idiots could come up this crap, believe me there are plenty of Liberal idiots (liars) being paid to lie to the people in the name of supposed Transparency, which by the way is actually does not existent.

Back in the old days, people would at least look ashamed when caught being bribed, but not Mary Landrieu. Senator Harry Reid put a provision on the health care plan that originally called for $100 million to be funneled to Louisiana exclusively.
Mary Landrieu refused to vote for cloture on the motion to proceed to the health care debate. Reid raised the offer to $300 million and Mary proved she was not a cheap date after all — she took the increase, voted for cloture, and then bragged about the $300 million bribe.
There is no shame when it comes to the Party of Lies and Corruption (Democrats/Liberals).

Lemme see if ah unnerstans this: First there were phantom jobs created in phantom districts throughout several states. This was exposed. So the WH geniuses develop a “phantom unclassified” district category into which they dump the numbers previously reported. Yup, they don’t reduce the totals which are bogus and can try and hoot about their success. By the by, some really good articles in the editorial/comment section of today’s wsj—for all you adults out there.
