Howard Dean Briefly Refers to the GOP as the “White Party”

By Don  |  August 17, 2008

Howard Dean the chaiman of the Democratic National Committee briefly called the Republican Party the "white party" before correcting himself.

From ABC News' Jake Tapper.

In an interview with National Public Radio on Friday, Howard Dean, the chairman of the Democratic National Committee, referred to the Republican Party as the white party, seemingly accidental.

"If you look at folks of color, even women, they're more successful in the Democratic Party than they are in the white, uh, excuse me, in the Republican Party," Dean said, chuckling, "because we just give more opportunity to folks who are hard-working people who are immigrants and come from members of minority groups."

Listen to it HERE.

While Dean quickly corrected himself there is little doubt that he was using the issue of race to distinguish the Democrats from the Republicans and to make it appear that the GOP is racist and non-inclusive.

If the Democrats continue to raise the race card during the campaign they are bound to lose as they will appear to be the real racists.

They are the racists.  Democrats have pandered to and held down minorities for decades.  Without their votes democrats would lose every election and yet minorities vote overwhelmingly for the very party that condemns them to failure.

Just another typical Dem attempt to keep blacks, whom they assume/force to think alike enslaved in their camp.

How many people of color do you remember seeing in the Clinton administration and how many colored Supreme Court Justices did he appoint?  Just in GW’s administration we’ve had Powell and Condi, plus he nominated several black judges that were blackballed by the Dems because they were too conservative. And did you pick up on Obama saying he would NOT have voted for Clarence Thomas because he was Too inexperienced?? The hypocracy of the Democratic party is dumbfounding.

When I first read this headline, I thought to myself, “The Republicans are the white party? I suppose that is true, given that the Democrats are the red party.  And I would rather be dead than red.”

The problem is that McCain is such a pathetic and hypocritical candidate, I think the Republicans haven’t shot themselves in the foot with this one… they have shot themselves in the head.
