Sen. Hillary Clinton moved quickly to dismiss her drubbing in the North Carolina Democratic primary yesterday by hitting the campaign trail in West Virginia and vowing to stay in the race.
Speaking in Shepherdstown, West Virginia, when asked if she'll carry the fight to the floor of the convention, Clinton said she's not going anywhere until there is a clear winner. "I'm staying in this race until there is a nominee and I obviously am going to work as hard as I can to become that nominee...that is what I have done, that is what I continue to do," Clinton said.

She also made some comments about the nomination process.
Clinton also pointed out that if the other side had the rules the Democratic Party did – their contest would still be raging on. "If we had the rules the Republicans have we'd already have a nominee. If they had our rules they'd still be fighting it out."
Alas for the Democrats the Republicans use a far simpler and fairer system for selecting their nominee. The Democrats have no one to blame for the dragged out nomination process but themselves. While it is likely that Barack Obama will be the nominee the Democrats in their infinite wisdom decided to award superdelegate status to elected officials and these politicians have now become the ultimate powerbrokers and could give the nomination to the person who didn't win a majority of pledged delegates. Talk about a plan that has backfired.
