Ahhh, but don’t count the other “news” networks down for the count yet. Yesterday CNN put out a press release just chock FULL of their own spin. I realize that a company’s PR department is supposed to focus a positive light on itself, but some of this is too much.
First, they try to heap a lot of creative wordsmithing onto FNC’s “decline”, but yet don’t contrast it with their own slide. Which, of course, would be just disastrous.
Next, they’re trying to say (a full fledged LIE) they are the “only non-partisan cable news operation”. With declining numbers, along with their statist friends at MSNBC, you think the viewers are really buying that? So, if you’re talking the realm of the real world, aren’t those ad execs and others who receive these press releases somehow AREN’T part of that same “real world”? Uh, correct me if I’m wrong, but don’t companies ask their ad representatives to justify ad spending, especially in this economic atmosphere—not just here, but throughout the world? Just because you put a number on a piece of paper doesn’t mean it’s true, or going to be bought as such—even by someone who isn’t in your business specialty.

Another interesting post, looks like MadCow is stomping on Olberboy during MSNBC prime time. Maybe that’s just what he needs, a lesbian to dominate him. Could be the loosening up he needs. http://tvbythenumbers.com/2010/04/27/keith-olbermann-takes-a-ratings-backseat-to-rachel-maddow-at-msnbcs/49885
