I think there is little weight to the person actually being an “adviser” that was with McCain inasmuch as they are probably a Republican operative like so many whom travel from camp to camp.

Either way, it’s a very selective quote by some mid level person in operations used to give the media wheels.

While credible McCain staffers have made some very big mistakes – there is blame enough elsewhere.

Being called a “whack job” by a McSame adviser is a compliment.  Like the other poster, were it not for Palin I would be voting third party if I showed up at all.  “She takes no advice from anyone” probably means she won’t take too seriously the beltway policy wonks who have engineered this republican disaster.

If he can’t even handle running a modern coherent political campaign, how the heck can he run the country? And yes: his campaign HAS BEEN PATHETIC.

In a way I do feel sorry for him and the way he has sold out on everything that many people have respected him for, but McCain 2000 would NOT vote for McCain 2008. And HE made the decision to run a slimey negative smear and fear fest and HE has his own conscience to answer to.

Palin is an embarrassment and a liability.

I have to agree with the others here – I was not going to vote for McCain . . . and deep in me I really resent him being on the ticket . . . but Palin gives me someone to vote for – her experience is worth more than Obama’s, Biden’s, or Hillary’s. She makes real decisions and thinks beyond an election. She DOES know life in the lower and middle classes. I like her judgment better than McCain’s, except McCain has shown good judgement on military matters.

The only concern I have about Palin is that she agreed to be on the McCain ticket – but the night before we learned of this ticket – I was very depressed (Lieberman was being mentioned along with some other unsavory characters . . . Romney would have been fine) thinking – how can a serious, good American get to an office? If you aren’t a millionaire, or married to one, you don’t stand a chance. Then this pick was announced and it delighted me that someone who seemed like a real conservative – and didn’t have money – was chosen.

I think the smearing of her (she exercised GREAT judgement in the trooper situation, best I can tell; the clothes thing is so phony and pathetic I dismiss it – the Clinton’s trashed the White House, ripping off more money than we can count and these hipocrytes are going to mention $150K?) is SUCH a disservice to all America.

She is feminine, intelligent, decent, wholesome, honorable, well-spoken, has a measure of success in government, and is willing to serve – what a picture! But in America, the God of fornication and its twin = abortion rules – you can’t be admired if you are decent. You have to at least have one divorce. I could go on – but why bother – this group is already with me or will be stubbornly against – no convincing anyone here. Which is fine – good and thoughtful writing here . . . I like Reed & Don. This is pure propaganda generated by the Obama campaign in the 4th quarter.  If McCain loses, I fully expect he will accept full responsibilty for the loss and not pass blame onto his running mate.  Simply not McCain’s style to blame someone else.  Now, if Obama loses the election, we all know he and the Dems will blame racism for his failures.  Mark my words!

The issue, though, is not where McCain will be placing blame, but where the “McCain Campaign”, i.e. the Washington crowd that runs his campaign, will place it—and that Washington crowd is a bunch of cutthroats.

I love it when people talk about how Sarah Palin has more experience than President Elect Obama. He honed his astonishing organizational skills as the same “community organizer” that Palin maligned in her speech at the GOP convention. I’m assuming that most people who read and post on political web sites are pretty intelligent. Isn’t it obvious that this woman is woefully lacking in both intelligence and intellectual interest? A McCain aide said she didn’t know that Africa was a continent, not a country, ad nauseum. There is such a thing as a person of superior character. Obama is an example. Sarah Palin, for umpteen reasons, is not. I am so relieved there is no chance that this woman will get near the White House. Not now, not at any time in the future. May the Republican party heal itself.

Yes, it’s good that the ‘genious’ people of our country won . . . especially Obama, he’s really so intellectually superior to us all. He’s admired and loved. I am glad that he replaces all the lower intelligencia of the Presidents before him. And of course, if you supported him it’s merely a reflection of your brilliance too. I cannot imagine people so dense as to care about anyone else but him . . . and his lovely family, and party.

He’s so intelligent that he understands you have to promise everything all during the campaign, and then immediately in the acceptance speech, let everyone know that those promises were bogus and it’ll take sacrifice from everyone and he’s just there to set the vision and guide us.

It’ll be a delight to watch as he keeps all his promises. It’ll be such a blessing to see as the character of the nation is enhanced as we follow his leadership in totality – the healer, the uniter – the one who can resolve all problems, mostly due to his vast intellectual interest.

That Sarah, I don’t know what we were thinking? She is a beautiful mother and wife, who actually lead a state out of economic problems. She confronted and fought all, including her own party where it was wrong, and won. What an intellectually pathetic piece of humanity. She kept her child when professional intelligent doctors advised her to kill it and save it from it’s miserable life – how sad that she acted so stupidly and selfishly. Obviously another form of intellectual ignorance. She’s been faithful to one man all her life. She can speak without a teleprompter and keep the thoughts not only ‘together’ but inspirational – hah, a sure sign of pathetic mental capacity.

Yes, I have to agree with you. Thank goodness she will never get near the White House – this intellectual bulwark of a country would only fail with someone like that. Thank goodness we have someone who delights in the death of the unborn and just born. That way we can know that our heritage will go to whomever wishes to enter the country – because then none of the natives will be here to get it all taken away from them – we’ll just give it – because that’s what the intellectually superior want.
