Former MSNBC anchor David Shuster thinks that President Obama should string out the Osama Bin Laden storyline for political gain.
Shuster is free to express his opinion since he is no longer employed by MSNBC (not that that ever stopped him when he was there), but his comments do raise the question of whether or not he is still a journalist or if he has become a political operative?
To suggest that Obama in essence manipulate the news for political gain would be a violation of journalism’s code of ethics, if there was one, that journalists like Shuster actually adhered to.
But since Shuster is a liberal he will get a pass from his friends in the mainstream media. It would have been a far different story if a conservative journalist had made a similar suggestion about a Republican president.
