After the devastating loss by Alex Sink in Tuesday’s special congressional election in Florida, MSNBC’s Chris Matthews painted a gloomy picture for the Democrats this fall when he predicted that they will lose the Senate to the Republicans:
…It’s going to be very hard to hold the Senate — I think the Senate goes. I think we heard from the Ghost of Christmas Future this week, which is they’re going to lose the Senate, and they’d better change the name of this game.
Matthews made his comments on Morning Joe on Thursday.
This isn’t the story that Matthews, or the Democrats, were expecting to write this week, but Sink’s loss on Tuesday has flipped the script, buoying Republican hopes all across the board while leaving the Democrats scrambling to find an effective way to counter the anti-Obamacare feelings of the electorate that threaten their hold on the Senate.
