Bill Nye ‘The Science Guy’ calls Climate Change Skeptics ‘Almost Unpatriotic’

Bill Nye who came to fame as ‘The Science Guy” told Rachel Maddow that climate change skeptics were “almost unpatriotic” and “denying science” as the east is mired in a record snowfall. Nye appears at about the 5:48 mark.
This was a strange segment with Maddow using a basketball analogy to build the case that weather happens. Then we had Nye come on and tell viewers that older people basically don’t understand science and only younger people do. He also then cited the Nobel Prize awarded to the U.N.’s very own IPCC as evidence that they are experts in climate change and that we should believe what they say.
What wasn’t mentioned on course was the falsified glacier melting report by the IPCC that has embarrassed the U.N.
Yes weather happens and climate changes but we are no closer to burning up the planet than we are to returning to another Ice Age.
Frankly as a resident of Maryland I would have gladly taken some above normal temperatures rather than the once in a lifetime snow that has plopped down on my driveway which has taken my family days to shovel.

I think you’ve missed a golden opportunity here. Rachel Maddow deconstructs the Fox News syllogism:
A. Scientists claim the earth is getting warmer
B. It’s snowing like crazy right now.
C. Scientists are totally wrong.
She brought Nye on to explain why a week of snow doesn’t mean pack ice is no longer melting in the aggregate. Instead, he provided his own illogical syllogism:
A. The United States has a great scientific history
B. Scientists say global warming is real
C. Disagreeing with scientists is un-American.
A week of snow doesn’t undo years of glacial melt anymore than expecting scientists to explain themselves makes you un-American. The climate change advocates have themselves to blame for much of the skepticism: if it really is such an “inconvenient truth,” why do climate change advocates maintain so many of the conveniences they claim cause the problems?

Bill Nye is a mechanical engineer but a climate scientist.
Please, the liberals really are bettr people than you peons. They know better than you do, and your petty objections carry no weight.
They are talking about problems that will occur thirty years or more from now. Who the hell are you to disagree with their predictions.
Shut up, pay any extra taxes they demand, and remember that they know better than you. Amen.
I would like to see a series of public debates between the two opposing sides of the ‘climate change’ fiasco. No politicians, no pundits, just accredited scientists from each side.
Carry the debates on CNN and on FNC.
Then have a series followup session bwtween Butch Madcow and Ann Coulter.

Actually I am beginning to be rather proud of my reputation as a “Global Warming Denier”. I have been consistent in this for some 45 years since I graduated from University -having majored in arcane subjects such as climatology, geography -you know -studying stuff like “climate change”.
Also as the pilot first of all of Air Force fighters for some 30 years and now a corporate jet -I can actually read weather maps -and have seen a fair bit of the world from the Arctic to the Equator with my own eyes.
You should take a look at the Greenland icecap and then tell me that it is disappearing.
You should also look at the NOAA sea level records and then tell me that we are going to flood New York City.
But of course -the “believers” never need to consult the data -it is enough for them to hear Al Gore…
Weather does indeed happen -always has and always will -but I wouldn’t commit suicide for fear of being roasted by global warming…
Nor am I afraid of an immediate return of the Ice Age.
Things will probably continue pretty much as they have -at least for maybe the next 10 or 20 thousand years. Beyond that my interest level wanes pretty severely!
