ACORN CEO: ‘Attacks Racially Motivated’

ACORN CEO calls employee actions indefensible, but calls attacks racially motivated.

In a press release, ACORN CEO Bertha Lewis says, that as “a result of the indefensible action of a handful of our employees,” the group will immediately stop accepting anyone into ACORN office for service programs, will conduct in-service training of staff, and begin an audit “to review all of the systems and processes called into question by the videos,” to be conducted by the group’s Independent Advisory Council.
The Council includes many prominent Democrats, including the man who helped President Obama Transition Team, John Podesta, President and CEO of the Center for American Progress; former Maryland Lt. Gov. Kathleen Kennedy Townsend; Andrew Stern, International President of the Service Employees International Union; and former Housing and Urban Development Secretary Henry Cisneros.
“We have all been deeply disturbed by what we’ve seen in some of these videos,” Lewis said. “I must say, on behalf of ACORN’s Board and our Advisory Council, that we will go to whatever lengths necessary to reestablish the public trust. For nearly forty years, ACORN has given voice to communities, and gotten results. Right now, our nearly 500,000 member are working their hearts out for quality, affordable healthcare for every American and to help stop the foreclosure crisis. We must get this process right, so the good work can go forward.”
ACORN has a lot of nerve in calling an investigation headed by Podesta, Kennedy Townsend and Stern independent. All of these people are sympathetic to ACORN's mission and the activities uncovered in the videos broke the law and should be investigated by the FBI not a bunch of liberals who will do their best to sweep the allegations under the rug.
Last night on the ABC World News with Charles Gibson, CEO Lewis reiterated her indefensible remark from the press release and when asked about conservative and Republican attacks on her organization she told Jake Tapper "I think, you know, basically they’re saying, these people shouldn’t be trusted. How could they be trusted, you know, they’re all black and brown people?"
All black and and brown people? Lewis must have missed the video from the San Berardino, Calif office where the workers were white.
Unfortunately for the Democrats and Obama this story is far from over.

It’s time for the FBI to investigate this group and who really gets all the taxpayer money involved. And they work mainly for Democrats, if not exclusively, so maybe the rest of us resent our money being used in this partisan fashion. FBI, FBI, FBI!

Wait for the next election. Then millions of ballots will tally for the benefit of the Democrats. Their insidious plan has only just begun.

Thinking people on both sides are getting sick of the “Race Club” swinging at any and all questions. I use club because the intent is clearly to end all debate and malign the questioner. These folks are scooping up Millions in Federal and State funds with little or no supervision and supporting only one Party. Gee, what are the chances that KKT and Podesta will find and fix problems. Give me a break.
Wonder if any of those adolescent sex slaves from El Salvador or Mexico would be considered “brown people”. Acorn CEO Lewis seemed unconcerned aboout those minorities.
JUST MY OPINION:
The ACORN videos? They hired and trained these
employees (including the white lady.) I would like Freedom of Information to scrutinize the
percentages of black/white employees of ACORN to
see if there is not REVERSE discrimination shown.
Hey, white ladies need incomes, too, you know!
The employees on the videos seemed to be WELL
TRAINED AND KNOWLEDGEABLE in skirting the laws.
This makes me wonder HOW MANY MILLIONS (BILLIONS?) are OUR tax-dollars picked up the tab for such illegally given advice and/or falsified
forms given to people coming to their offices.
They can holler “RACISM, RACISM” all they want.
I respond with “Cheating, Cheating” on laws now
enforceable, which should be minutely looked investigated: case by case, as filed with the IRS
and/or other government agencies.
I AM NOT A RACIST! I AM an outraged, tax-payer
who feels the heaviest fines/penalties should be
given this organization…. and DIG DEEP TO GET

More smoke-screen baloney from an organization that has enriched its leaders, practiced fraudulent voter registration and now this. Wasn’t it Nevada that claimed 75% of the ACORN registrations were fraudulent? I can’t wait until it and other similar race-tilted organizations turn in the census numbers. For Congress to vote to withhold funding recently is indicative of how perverted this organization has become. It is time to bell this cat, and put it in the light of day to see the rot.
