Why is Fox News Protecting Obama?

AIM Column  |  By Cliff Kincaid  |  June 19, 2008

With former network news star Linda Douglass now in place as Obama’s press spokesman, it figures to be quite a ride for Obama and his media friends.

If Barack Obama wanted to dispel doubts about his national security credentials, he hasn’t done so with the announcement of a new “Senior Working Group on National Security” that includes Dr. Tony Lake, a former national security adviser to Bill Clinton. Lake became a laughingstock for expressing doubts as to whether Alger Hiss, the founder of the United Nations and a top State Department official, was a communist spy. Lake’s doubts led to a controversy that caused him to withdraw his nomination as Clinton’s CIA director.

Interestingly, Lake had expressed those doubts on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” during an interview conducted by the late Tim Russert. It went like this:

Russert: You’re a student of history. Do you believe Alger Hiss was a spy?

Lake: I’ve read a couple of books that have certainly offered a lot of evidence that he may have been. I don’t think it’s conclusive.

Hiss, as most people know, had been convicted of perjury for denying he was a communist agent and decoded Soviet transcripts later confirmed his guilt. What does Obama know about this case? Did he personally approve Lake’s addition to his prestigious foreign policy group? Lake could conceivably end up as nominee for CIA director again.

A CIA analysis notes that Lake was “unlikely to be the last casualty of the Hiss case.” How prophetic. It appears that Obama could be another. That is, if we have a media willing to hold him accountable for the atrocious pick of Lake.

At the same time, Lake’s appointment to Obama’s foreign policy team should generate more interest in Obama’s personal involvement in Marxist politics in Hawaii and Chicago and lead to questions about what lessons he learned from his childhood mentor, Communist Party member Frank Marshall Davis.

Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell

Last year, when Lake’s role as a fundraiser for Obama came to our attention, we urged our members to send him a postcard saying:

Professor Anthony Lake
School of Foreign Service
Georgetown University
37th and O Streets, N.W.
Washington, DC 20057

Dear Professor:

It has been reported that you are now backing and raising money for Senator Barack Obama for president. Since that means you have an influence of some kind on his thinking, especially in foreign affairs, we would like to know the following:

(1) Do you still doubt that Alger Hiss was a Soviet spy?
(2) What Is Senator Obama’s position on the question of Hiss’s guilt?

Thank you for your attention to these matters.

We are still waiting for answers to these questions. Perhaps you can have some luck. Lake’s email address is listed as (JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)

Meanwhile, Obama himself got caught glossing over his well-documented relationship with communist Frank Marshall Davis in his June 15 Father’s Day speech. “I know what it means to have an absent father, although my circumstances weren’t as tough as they are for many young people today,” Obama said. “Even though my father left us when I was two-years-old, and I only knew him from the letters he wrote and the stories that my family told, I was luckier than most. I grew up in Hawaii, and had two wonderful grandparents from Kansas who poured everything they had into helping my mother raise my sister and me―who worked with her to teach us about love and respect and the obligations we have to one another.”

Obama neglected to mention that his grandfather, Stanley Dunham, selected Frank Marshall Davis as Obama’s father-figure during his time in Hawaii. This is how his grandparents helped his mother “raise” Obama. Davis, a black communist writer and poet, was a role model for Obama during a time when Obama needed someone to look up to and was formulating his thinking. Davis filled Obama’s head with anti-American thoughts.

Obama keeps this information concealed from voters because he and his campaign strategist, David Axelrod, understand that Davis was a hard-line member of the Communist Party USA and a Stalinist agent. Any relationship with such a figure would not go over well with voters, especially in Obama’s case when other controversial relationships with anti-American figures have already surfaced.

The Importance of Davis

It’s one thing to be associated with communist terrorist Bill Ayers. It’s another thing to sit through the anti-American sermons of Jeremiah Wright and belong to his church. But to have a father-son relationship with a top Communist? This might be hard for voters to fathom. That is why the information has to be concealed from voters at any cost. And this is why Obama went to such lengths to conceal Davis’s identity, referring in his book, Dreams From My Father, to Davis as just “Frank.”

Unfortunately for Obama, Professor Gerald Horne, a writer for a communist publication, blew the whistle, disclosing that Frank was Frank Marshall Davis. Horne was proud of that fact and spoke in glowing terms about the relationship to a mostly communist group at Tamiment Library at New York University, which received and now houses the sanitized Communist Party archives. After being alerted to the Horne speech by New Zealand blogger Trevor Loudon, we confirmed the true identity of “Frank” with Dr. Kathryn Takara of the University of Hawaii. She said Davis was a significant influence over Obama for a crucial three or four years of his life before he went off to college. Veteran anti-communist investigator Herbert Romerstein has written an entire report (PDF) on the communist network in Hawaii that included Davis and influenced Obama.

Since we put the final pieces of this puzzle together several months ago, making it crystal clear that “Frank” was a Communist and that he was Obama’s childhood mentor, many in the media haven’t quite figured out how to handle this smoking gun. Some like the Washington Post’s Dana Milbank have tried to ridicule or ignore the evidence. Others, including various Fox News personalities and even one prominent “conservative” news service, have deliberately ignored it. They would prefer to blather on about Jeremiah Wright and Bill Ayers, who have largely become old news.

The Pattern of Associations

To be sure, Wright and Ayers are important personalities, and much more needs to be investigated and told about their role in influencing Obama, but they figure in Obama’s later life during the Chicago phase of his career. By contrast, Frank Marshall Davis was there in Hawaii―at a crucial time according to Obama himself―to mentor a young Obama, who was desperately in need of a father-figure. These were the crucial growing-up years. As a father of three sons, I know how important these years can be. Obama knows, too.

The Davis influence over Obama helps explain why Obama, when he went to college, admittedly selected Marxist professors as friends, attended socialist conferences, and discussed neocolonialism. Davis, in short, explains the rest of Obama’s life and career, including his subsequent associations with Ayers and Wright. It adds up to a list of controversial connections and associations that would clearly disqualify Obama from ever getting a federal security clearance. But as a presidential candidate, he doesn’t need one.

We thought at first that conservative media figures were shying away from this explosive information because they feared being labeled as “McCarthyites” if they raised it. Then, in the case of Fox News, we learned that Rupert Murdoch, owner of the Fox News parent company, News Corporation, was publicly saying nice things about Obama’s presidential run, calling him a “rock star” and other nonsense and saying he will probably win the White House. However, Murdoch stopped short of a full personal endorsement of Obama, saying he wanted to meet with him first. It is a fact, however, that his New York Post newspaper had already endorsed Obama as a “fresh face” in the Democratic presidential primaries, and Murdoch says that he was instrumental in arranging that.

It goes without saying that it might be difficult to arrange a Murdoch-Obama meeting if Bill O’Reilly were ranting and raving on a daily basis about Obama’s relationship with Frank Marshall Davis. The leftist Nation magazine reports with glee that “some Fox executives are following Rupert Murdoch’s new tone” on Obama. Would it be surprising if the new tone were to filter down to the on-air personalities?

With former network news star Linda Douglass now in place as Obama’s press spokesman, it figures to be quite a ride for Obama and his media friends. Having just announced that he intends to bypass the federal public financing campaign system and privately raise and spend perhaps $250 million or more to capture the White House this November, it looks like many in the liberal and conservative media will now treat him as the inevitable winner and compete for his affections by avoiding coverage of anything that could remotely be considered by the campaign to be a “smear.” Not so coincidentally, Obama has just launched a “Fight the smears” website.

The Cover-Up

The message to the media is to stay away from anything that could seriously tarnish Obama’s image. A relationship with a Stalinist agent could certainly do so. So the information will have to be suppressed, even by Fox News.

Of course, bringing up the role of Frank Marshall Davis in raising Obama is not a smear. It is a fact. But facts can be inconvenient things when there is a political will to ignore them. Likewise, Tony Lake’s nonsensical views about Alger Hiss will likely be ignored. Many reporters probably don’t even know who Alger Hiss was. So what does it matter that people like Alger Hiss and Frank Marshall Davis were communist agents? And that Obama is now being advised by someone who turns a blind eye to the evidence of communist infiltration of the U.S. Government?

Does anybody in the major media care about the truth anymore? And what has happened to the conservative media as well?

Between the facts in this article, and the burgeoning movement funded by George Soros and backed by the likes of Nancy Pelosi to basically censor Conservative media outlets by calling their message “hate speech”, does anyone else feel like we are about to hand over OUR country to politicians who have gone out of their way to demonize the Republican Party?

I was raised a Democrat and when it came time to vote in my first election I realized that all the things my father taught me about being a Democrat were actually Republican views.  What scares me about the Democratic party of today is, they don’t care what is right for the country, they only care about how they can make a Republican President look incompetent.  Democrats such as Joe Lieberman are being isolated in their own party because their views are “old school” and don’t further the liberal agenda.  He still believes that he is a public servant first, and a Democrat second, and vote for what is best for the people who trusted him enough to vote him in office.  Dictators, yes I said dictators, like Nancy Pelosi have lost sight of who they work for.  Barack Obama is cut from the same cloth but is more skillful in concealing this.  Most likely because his mentor Frank, taught him well.

It is our responsiblity as Americans to legally do everything in our power to keep him, and politicians like him, from being the commander in chief.

I agree these are not the Democrats of my childhood.

The problem however, is we do not have the Republicans of my childhood either.

The Republicans of my childhood are either passing away or just remaining silent.

As a Canadian I can see that the US has much the same problem in politics as we do -the parties, instead of trying to do the best for the country focus on perpetuating themselves in or gaining power.Your Democrats or our Liberals will lie, cheat and/or steal to get into power and your Republicans or our Conservatives will do the same to retain their power.

Sad!

As a kid I thought that politics was an honourable profession. Sixty-five years of observation have taught me otherwise.

God help us all! (although the same observation period tends to indicate that this is unlikely).

I voted Democrat since I was 18,in 1996 I voted republican for the first time even though I knew Dole would loose.  I wasn’t informed then, I just voted Democrat cause it sounded good. After listening to talk radio, and reading online news, and papers such as the Washington times, I know better. God help us all

How sad, there is really no hope for our country. Our presidential candidates are a liberal and an ultra-liberal-marxist. So whoever wins… WE LOSE!

We are being invaded in the Southwest by illegals intent on the “reconquista” and on the north by islam. Our beloved country cannot last another fifty years. Either a miracle or an armed uprising has to take place for us to regain control. The first choice is not happening. For the second choice we have to develop the kind of testicular fortitude which we lack.

We are too content with “American Idol”, “Monday Night Football” and Britney-Brangelina-Lohan.

It is not just FOX News and conservatism that is affected. It is now all of FOX. The people that used to work for Time Warner and News Corp are Bill Kristol, Charles Krauthammer, Jane Hall, Skip Caray, and Pete van Wieren.

The ones that are currently working both are Bernard Goldberg, Larry McReynolds, Kyle Petty, Bill Webber, Dick Stockton, Pam Oliver, Frank Caliendo, Ralph Sheheen, Matt Yocum, Nina Easton, Leigh Gallagher, and Adam Lashinsky.

Current conservatices employed by Time Warner are Glenn Beck, Bill Bennett, Mona Charen, and J.C. Watts.

Not even the great WSB-AM 750 in Atlanta is immune to the traitors at Time Warner since they are part of CNN Radio. This is despite haveing Neal Boortz, Clark Howard, Sean Hannity, and Michael Savage. I confronted WSB-AM 750 last week over whether they supported CNN’s Jack Cafferty call for supporting Dennis Kucinich’s 35 counts of impeaching Bush over the myriad of events in his presidency. WSB AM’s program director responded that they do not support Cafferty’s call or anything that Time Warner. I replied back by calling them bald-faced liars.

The enemy is on the march and we are in the process of a slaughter that will make the Holocaust look like a walk in the park.

There can be nothing short of a revolution to take back our country if all we’re producing with our abyssmal public education system are generations of undereducated and apathetic people.  A nation can not sustain itself if ignorance is one of its largest domestic products.  The liberals that run the education system seem to want it that way.  I just don’t understand why.

Well, yes, I do understand….legions of uneducated, maleable voters are more easily swayed by liberal politicians’ pandering and false promises.

I remain optimistic that the sleeping giant will shake off the sedatives of the leftmedia bias, the ridiculous pop culture and the insidious political correctness and take this country back from the brink.  Electing Obama will only push us further and faster toward that brink, and the media will have made it happen…both by their fawning praises of the Marxists and by their ommissions of anything that would compromise their agenda.  This must be stopped!

I was raised Demorcat too. Then when abortion and all that came in, I became a Republican, Now at age 66, I have no doubt that both sides are the same as we see more republicans falling and have joined the global trend, rushing to make us fall, and we are falling fast, to be turned over to the EU constitution, Commie’s ? Yes..what they are doing in their not so sneaky way is all but sealed. Everyone with a brain, common sense tells us fighting terror is to close borders and send our tax money to aid enemies and nation build as our forefathers warned us and they also put in the bare arms so government can’t get to far in lust for power and us people can fight back. I watched while so many gave up their guns for a ticket to the game, I watch a 60 minute show as they were talking to prisons..men there. They laughed at it and talked about when they got out it would be so easy to rape and invade homes. ANd Islam,,have bought more of Fox too. HELLO !! Better wake up and stop supporting them and the tree huggers before the world starves. How many have to die, loose homes, have Islam in the schools, paid for by Saudi, and our President ‘s closest friends before you wake up. allah is not our G-d and never will be. Even the church , Jews, and every religion has fallen for it. WE THE PEOPLE should vote on aid to others. But the dictator does whatever he wants. How deep have you dug for truth. It takes ten yrs to build refineries. Do you think Bush who veto’s anything he wants did not know that in 2000? Pleaseeeeeeeeeeee. Hitler would sure be proud. We are the generation of Messiah coming. Wickedness and G-d out but look how they join with Islam, we are to bow to them here too. Best get up and do your history, and forget this unity Bull, other wide as they , Islam infests our country and have an opening coming in with learning Mexican and have their last names. I told everyone that is what is going on, and now drugs, and violence is here along with disease. We are broke as the commie’s know, and aid the enemy as ilegals..while our own people can’t say G-d or eat, keep their homes. Like old Hillary said, it takes a village,,she means world to feed those who won’t work..and our jobs are going out fast. Obama is a MUSLIM,,full of hate and lust for power an like he said once, you will hear more of what you don’t like..and look at Bush and what he is doing and watching Obama too. does nothing. I think most are sorry, and aid goes out while Katrina and Fla still wait, our schools close while he is building our enemies nations. and bringing in 10,000 right after 9/11 to flight school from Saudi, My gosh how frightening to see you all fawn over anyone in gov. Five hundred and forty five run us to the EU,,and you just talk, take back our land, kick out the enemy, punish the wicked. before it is too late..

Bill “no spin” O’reilly is the biggest fraud on fox. He chastises anyone who dares to critize Obama for fear that he won’t get his much sought after interview with the messiah. He calls the swift boat vets vicious while he has rev al on his shown so often that he might as well be a co-host. He is a loud mouth windbag who is all about promoting himself and I don’t understand how Laura Ingraham and others go on his show to be bullied.

The downside of capitalism and free markets is that these mechanisms know no borders. Foreign interests now control a major stake in America’s news sources, therefore the news we now receive has been unduly influenced by an internationalist and anti-American agenda. AIM first alerted readers to this in their article Arabs Buy and Influence U.S. Media in 2006. If you wonder why Fox News sucks now with a bunch a pretty blonde airheads ... now you know why.

O’Reilly and Hannity & Colmes have lost their substance. They’re covering the same tired, (safe) topics over and over again.

Two of those who posted comments summarize the real truth of what is going on today in America. That’s Kim Segar and JayMar. Spot ON! What wraps up the problems of today in a really neat bundle is one word.  A wonderful word with glorious perceptions. DEMOCRARY.  Freedom.  A freedom taken to its outermost limits of tolerance, to the point that common sense has become clouded.  A concept which carries within its grand ambitions a seed of its own destruction. In economics, the point of diminishing returns.  We have reached that point.  The returns are now becoming apparent in the choices we have for leadereship. We have stepped on to the slippery slopes and now we are in a slide.  The only way to reverse the impending sad outcome is for the silent majority to finally stand up and in a loud voice scream out to the heights of power in Washington; NO MORE!  Certainly not NOBAMA.

Ringmaster is right about O’Reilly. I’ve watched his program since it started. He is pompous, constantly interrupts and excuses himself for it, and though he makes derogatory personal remarks himself, he is supersensitive about anyone making remarks about him. He apparently scours the daily media for articles about himself so he can respond. He called Neal Boortz an SOB, commented about Bob Dylan not washing for 2 weeks, and joked about J Edgar Hoover, saying the country needs a director ‘in a suit not a dress,’ referring to the Left’s vicious rumors of homosexualism. He stated that Al Gore would have won the 2000 election if he had appeared on O’Reilly’s program!

We are living in the Ends Times.  After years of crumbling values, media, education and judicial mocking of God, Christianity and our Judeo-Christian heritage, wearing us out and dumbing us down - our beloved country is entering into a perfect storm of critical events designed to neutralize and destroy America and her influence for good in the world.  Obama fits the bill for our times alright - he’s the ultimate stealth candidate!  With ALL of his negatives, ie. bad associations (with known communists, Islamists, money-men of questionable character and background - Tony Rezko was born in Syria and gave Obama lots of money from various “sources”) Obama’s misjudgments, mis-statements, questionable religious beliefs, a family history which changes all the time; his obvious shortcomings, inexperience in government, voting record, poor decisions, lies and spin, elitism, etc. - WITH ALL THIS he’s ahead in the polls! This is no accident.  He is getting MASSIVE help and assistance from those in league with the “stealth agenda.”  Who would ever have believed that Americans would be facing such critical times and be poised ready to vote into office one so unprepared and unfit to handle the job.  It’s just one more piece of a giant puzzle coming together now all over the world.  Evil has been working overtime to advance a hidden agenda so sinister, it will take Jesus’ return to restore order and peace.  We all need to REPENT, get right with Jesus and PRAY like never before!

To answer the question that is the title of this article: Because Fox News simply isn’t the monolithic far right conservative outlet that liberals pretend that it is, but is rather a “straw man” for libs to knock down.

With the exceptions of Special Report with Brit Hume and Fox News Sunday Report, Fox News is mostly annoying, like a record that would skip (back when we had vinyl 45s and LPs). That Allison woman is SOOO annoying that one’s hand just instinctively starts to reach for the remote.

However, someone has asked, If a prez candidate is afraid to face Fox News, how are they EVER going to confront all-powerful brutal, murderous dictators? The answer is quite clear: he will lead with his lips in an assault on the dictator’s arse!

Obama is a commie, not a Muslim. He is also a serial liar who, when confronted, takes a two-step approach: 1) try to act as though the particular issue is no big deal; then, if the media doesn’t simply allow the issue to fade into obscurity, 2) renege on his previous “position.”

Examples: Rev Wright and the Trinity Church; meeting dictators with no pre-conditions; pulling our troops out of Iraq right away, not raising taxes on the middle class (at least those who don’t invest in stocks, which he hopes that the great unwashed won’t catch onto), lots of debates became ONE debate (how utterly cowardly)...on July 4, not a great time to draw a large audience, so Obama can minimize the damage when he can’t answer questions more incisive than what’s his favorite dessert.

Obama is delusional. With no debates, McCain can blast away at him, so he’ll be reduced to an “are so-am not” series of press conferences. Fortunately, this will allow McCain to define Obama with examples illustrating O’s lies. McCain obviously relishes the thought of cleaning Obama’s clock in REAL debates, ie, those in which Chris Matthews won’t be a moderator.

Like the famous line from “Cool Hand Luke”: What we have heah [“here” in Southern] is uh failyuh to communicate.

Can this be substantiated? Just wait until Obama deals with the “one debate” idiocy. He can make great speeches, but he can’t handle serious questions in debates, eg, George Steponoffacliff’s few tough questions in a debate. Obama shamed himself, while George got blasted from the left for asking serious questions and making Obama look like a stuttering, inexperienced fool, which he is whenever he’s not “scripted.”

Sooner or later, people are going to wake up and realize that they’re paying through the nose for gasoline and food, while the dems are planning on raising taxes at the worst possible time. Clever, huh? They might also realize that the dem prosises in ‘06 have all come to naught. Do-nothing congress? House and Senate pages should check for pulses.

Besides, why should Fox News waste their best shots several months before the election? I am eagerly awaiting one or more October surprises. Since the conservative base can’t stand McCain, Obama will be the more newsworthy target of such a surprise.

But as the election nears, how many times can they “report” on McCain’s several major betrayals of his party (which have been repeated endlessly, losing a bit of “bite” every time they’re repeated), while Obama seeks to bluff his way into the White House?

The WASH POST’s Dana Milbank is an Obama stooge, NOT a serious reporter when it comes to his false idol Obama. I suspect he’ll take some heat when his fabricated, slapdash story about Obama’s communist ties/roots are revealed. What a cream puff!

Then there’s the very notion of Michelle Obama replacing Laura Bush as First Lady and living in the White House. Laura Bush is a lady and needs not tell others she’s a strong, powerful woman, generally a euphemism for “annoying.”

Wonderful comments here.  I can only add that the “Fox and Friends” which usually greets me when I first turn on the TV in the morning is full of what I call the “fluffies” - beautiful young women in cocktail dresses, high heels, and not serious business attire at all.  The men joke with them as if they were all equals, but the differences are stark, as the men are dressed as businessmen.

If you ever watch the other network news, which I do only when that’s the only choice, as onboard a cruise ship and CNN International is our only news source, you’ll see that women reporting and/or commenting on the news are not the Miss America contestants FOX News employs.

Maybe this is an attempt to trivialize FNC in some markets.  I don’t appreciate it.

I don’t think Fox News is a conservative anything - it’s just been the voice that pushed the Bush agenda.

If Obama doesn’t debate McCain, it will be because he knows he doesn’t have to in order to get elected.  He has some very powerful people behind him.  I don’t think communist is strong enough - certainly there may be some behind him, but not his ultimate agenda.

I will confess to not knowing much about his background other than when he first came on the scene the media loved him.  Some even portrayed him as the ‘son of a goatherder’.

Do we really truly know anything about him?

The media is communicating just fine, and the people are swallowing it.  Look at what they did to Ron Paul.  Look at the two they chose to be the front runners.

The media is not a news media - it is a corporate propaganda organ - nothing else.

We will have some very tough and scary times in the next few years - no matter who gets elected.  I’m just thinking McCain’s Presidency may not be as quick to bring about the demise of this country - as sure - but not as quick.

Notwithstanding my previous post The O’Reilly Factor is an interesting program and O’Reilly has much to do with that. He is a staunch opponent of child abuse, for REAL border control,  and for opening energy sources. However, some of his ‘stand-up guys’ give conservatives reason to wonder: Al Sharpton,Lani Davis, etc. Also his extreme preoccupation with getting prominent people on his program ( Obama, Jesse Jackson,Clinton, Left Hollywood figures) leave me doubting he will ask the hard Qs if and when he catches these fish. His attacks on CA congressman Gary Condit were largely responsible for the latter’s defeat, though there was never any solid evidence of complicity in Levy’s death. One might think he would go slowly in pointing the accusing finger at adulterers, after his own affair with AP Andrea Machris. But one would be wrong!! His supersensitivity has been commented on by Bernie Goldberg and others friendly to him. In the tire-cap incident (for those not familiar) O’Reilly jokingly speculated that some kids in a parking lot might be stealing hub caps. When it turned out the kids were black he apologized profusely, instead oif just leaving it alone. It came back to haunt him when he had Neal Boortz as a guest and treated him nastily (as he seems to do deliberately to many conservative guests). When Boortz mentioned the hub cap incident O’Reilly went ballistic and called Boortz an SOB, just as the program came to an end. When I point out his inconsistencies in E-Mails Bill never responds.

They want to take to the country into their own hands. Greed, power and control seem to be the agenda of these people. Initially you would think that as Americans we would see these facts and courses of action and be already on the march to Washington. But we all know in general Americans are constantly distracted. We are bombarded by quick imagery, materialistic and propaganda tools streaming back to our childhood. If you were to study the gradual change in different networks, for example Nickalodeon. I remember the commercials and shows being very simple yet creative and always sparked a kids imagination without genres.

Tody they seem to have incorporated their version of “kid MTV” with the Justin Timberlake/Britney Spears days to Hillary Duff and the Cirus gal. Not that they are all bad influence but the programming overall seems to force very young kids to grow up without any experience about life or principle.

Back to my point from childhood we have distractions thrown our way whether it is irrelevent news about cats in trees, tankers turned over and shark attacks. Or celebrity obseesions and their lives, ignoring our own. E! News and other entertainment channels are watched more than news (not as if the news we have is legit).

Entertainment is a leisure activity and when our country has gone though what is has in the past decade I feel as a people we should be more focused on agenda that will protect and restore our country to what it should be instead of restoring our bordem.

YES May Yahweh save USA. But HE won’t as HE has given everyone Freewill to choose. So have you noticed on news Elephant & Donkey have inverted Flag Stars showing 1 Point on bottom instead of 2 points. Person who is doing this obviously believes that by showing this goats head symbol USA is in grip of Occult forces leading to choices of those candidates who have turned away from TRUE GOD as President Bush has done by saying we all worship same god. I worship True GOD our LORD JESUS Christ. There is now talk of Bush becoming RCC like Blair did.

Yes, Special Report and Fox News Sunday are the only 2 reasonable approximations of fair and balanced left now that Russert is gone.

O’Reilly’s been a pompous, bloviating ass since he got on TV. I used to like his newspaper columns when those were his only voice. Occasionally he gets some thing correct, but his populist rants about oil and gas prices show he’s clueless about economics and inclined to collectivism.

Laura Ingraham is the same way: talking over “guests” wearing religion on her sleeve (like too many commenters here!!), wanting the gubmint to legislate morality, and totally full of herself.

But hey, the chicks are hot on Fox! smile

>>But hey, the chicks are hot on Fox!

True, but while a happily married man, Jane Skinner could be my girl next door any day of the week! (In a platonic sort of way, of course. She is effortlessly attractive, where so many “hotties” have to work at it.)

But…my son, who is getting ready to go on his second tour of duty in Iraq come September (scheduled for July, but broke his collar bone when he swerved to avoid hitting a dog in the road), says that the female photogs in Iraq must have to go through “hot” testing, as they are smokin’ babes! And they LOVED “Jarhead.” When the sniper had the bead on an enemy commander, the soldiers watching the movie over there were yelling, “SHOOT HIM! SHOOT HIM!”

Inside dope: When asked, he said Gen Patraeus is “a tool,” and they routinely jump over several lines of command to micromanage the war, but have no clear understanding of the situation on the ground.

A friend of my son’s who has also been there says he’s a “green zone general,” who took credit for clearing out an area in ‘07 that the friend’s unit had cleaned out between ‘05 and ‘06: “night and day differnce.” When the friend came back from Iraq, he was met by a woman who called him “a f’ing babykiller.”

During his first tour of duty, my son was a sniper who had to shoot terrorists from a mile and a half away, then call a forward unit to see if he had hit his target.

I asked him what they meant when they said they “cleaned out” an area: “No one left to kill.”

Bill O’Reilly: Living in the country near Charlotte, NC, we waited years to get Fox News. We watched O’Reilly every night for months, but he gets more overbearing every day. He has now appointed himself a 4th branch of government, routinely ordering senators, house reps, and just about everyone else to report back to him. He may be rich, but he’s still a fathead egomaniac.

That “libertarian” dodge he uses is to hide the fact that he routinely talks over players in either party, not allowing them to get in a word edgewise.

Great example: Ken Timmerman is wired in the circle of power and wrote a scathing book about Jesse Jackson’s criminal background a few years back. O’Reilly may have let him get one entire sentence out…or maybe not! Can you say “arse wipe” here? If so, the shoe fits O’Reilly to a tee.

O’Reilly doesn’t need guests: he needs a mirror to converse with, as this is essentially what he does, anyway.

I enjoy his brief talking points, but I can get this stuff elsewhere in more detail…and “Bones” comes on at 8 PM, followed by “House,” which beats the excruciation which IS Alan Colmes, who seems to think he’s clever, but isn’t. That “knowing” smirk of his is annoying to the max.

Give me Ann Coulter every time: she actually sources her material in her books. Think she’s lying? Google up the topic, and if the NY TIMES takes the opposite position, you know Ms Coulter is telling the truth! Kind’a like Clinton when he was president: if he said anything, you knew the opposite was true, a contra-indicator.

When we blame the liberals for our education’s system, remember they could not have gotten all that going without the help of the Republicans.

Remember ‘No Child Left Behind’ or as teachers call it ‘Every Child Left Behind’ was the brainchild of this administration.

Those kids know those tests really well - they study them all year.  They take practice tests for weeks on end.  That’s not educating.

Please, please wake up and realize it isn’t liberals or conservatives.

When you feel like saying it’s the liberal’s fault, ask youself how they got it done?  Are the republicans totaly helpless in WAshington??
Could the Republicans not have made some changes when they were in power?

To me, Ann Coulter is a female O’Reilly.

Thank you for clearing up some things that have been puzzling me.
I have always been a democrat and was a Clinton supporter. Now that this seems moot, I will become a “Republican for a day” and vote for McCain as Obama seems to be a dismal and dangerous “choice”.

Recently, I have been surprised at the kid glove treatment that Bill O’Reilly has bestowed upon Obama who deserves nothing less than the brilliant Light of Truth turned full force upon his bamboozling and hoodwinking…....Shepard Smith and Neil Cavuto appears meek, Sean Hannity, my favorite there since I have become an UnDem seems only slightly more intrepid, but there is none of the force and passion that turned full bore on Kerry.  Where is that now when we REALLY need it.
Maybe now I understand.
Mores the pity.

Very good article, and very good comments.

By calling Obama a “rock star,” I thought they were alluding to his use of crack cocaine… am disappointed to find that no such nuances were intended.  But no worries, I’ve been disappointed by the MSM before.

Seems to me, though, that not a single MSM entity has been thorough in their vetting, handling and reportage of Obama.  As a Chicago-area resident, I seem to know much more about him than the theoretically investigative-minded journalists and talking heads… well, I suppose they may “know,” but they surely haven’t deigned to let the people they supposedly serve sample their gleanings.

As for FOX specifically… if Rupert Murdoch isn’t pro-NWO, then who, pray tell, is?

Republicans wake up!  You may not like John McCain, but he is a hell of lot better than Obama.  Obama will destroy this country.  I was a Clinton supporter who followed the primary very closely.  Obama and his supporters are scary.

I’ll vote for McCain to save this country it from the neo-liberals and Obama.

We believe Fox has behaved wonderfully, and has demonstrated and STILL is demonstrating the truth. So, all you that are bashing them, need to wake up. As for the flag pin, don’t you forget sometimes to put it on, or you have an expensive suit and don’t want to put a small insert into it? If it wasn’t for brave Warriors such as Sean, and Gerado Rivera, we would still be wondering who the heck is Barack Obama. They have reported over and over the truth and if some of you would have turned the news last night, you would have noticed great reporting from Sean. Dont’ shoot the messengers, children. Maybe you should be blogging on CNN and MSNBC, now there is a bias!

Great article and comments - at least most of the comments were really good.  The commenter who mocked Laura Ingraham for “wearing her religion on her sleeve” and so obviously had disdain for those who wrote so excellently about their Christian viewpoint and worldview - here’s a polite warning - don’t visit my blog!  The rest of you may, in fact, like it.

Now to the subject at hand.

This article caught my attention precisely because I wanted answers to that same question!

Something has drastically changed at Fox News.

When E.D. Hill had her show dropped from the schedule (was she also fired?) just because she questioned whether or not the fist bump that Barack and Michele did after a campaign speech could, perhaps, be similar to a terrorist type of action, I knew that the namby-pamby Barack Obambi kid gloves were now officially on at Fox.

Hill’s comment could have just been laughed off.  Why so sensitive?  Why punish her so harshly?

Why the removal of the flag pins from their lapels?  Our fight against Islamo-fascist terrorism is not over!  If they were forced to do this because the bosses at Fox thought it might show favoritism towards John McCain…GIVE ME A FREAKIN’ BREAK!!  It shows PATRIOTISM TOWARDS OUR NATION AND SUPPORT FOR OUR TROOPS FIGHTING FOR OUR FREEDOM IN HARMS WAY!

After reading this article and the comments, I can’t help but wonder if George Soros is secretly working behind the scenes at Fox.  He’s got every other news outlet bought…doesn’t he?

I have switched to watching local news reports.  I also now listen to Talk Radio and read blogs instead of viewing the Fox shows that I used to watch.  Fox has officially lost my once loyal viewership.

Since I don’t have TV, I haven’t watched Fox for a couple of years.

The fact is - we still don’t know ‘who the heck is Barack Obama’.

Yes, maybe I was bamboozled, but for a while I thought Fox News was at least giving the other side of the story.

Now I don’t feel that way.  They were pretending to give us the other side of the story, while they were pushing the One World, Globalist movement right along. While pretending to support this country and give a voice to conservatism, they were either covering up a lot of things or perfoming some really good misdirection.

No, I think Fox is just part of the plan.

Whether you like this President or not and whether you believe in this war or not, a lot of other things have been done during this administration that has/will adversely affect this nation.  A lot of things were not done that will have adverse effects.

Our suicidal trade deals, especially with China.
If the Superhighway gets built, China will have a straight shot into the heart of this country.  Supposedly the idea is that the first place foreign shipments will be checked will be at a Kansas City terminal belonging to Mexico. So whatever and whomever China wants to bring in, will be in Kansas City before we know it.

Now we are going into Central America.  If CAFTA helps the poor Central Americans as well as it helped the poor Mexicans, we can expect a few million more illegal aliens.

Let’s talk about illegal aliens and the fact this President has openly encouraged and protected the open border.  He has called the opponents - ‘bigots’.  He called the Minutemen -
‘Vigilantes’.  Imagine that he would say those things about US Citizens who just want our country and our border protected!!!!!!!!!

I’m thinking without Fox News out there ‘rah-rahing’ this President, more of us would have looked at him in a true light. Perhaps we would have actually seen the course we’ve taken.  Instead we were focused on the cheerleaders, the pom-poms and not what was happening.

I think Ron Paul is our best, and perhaps only, hope, but am realistic enough to realize he won’t be elected.  With that in mind, McCain just might give us some breathing room.

Yes, Obama is, and has always been scary.  The news media has touted, protected and gushed over this man since day one - all of them.  That should be enough to make anyone afraid of him.

I CAN’T BELIEVE HOW HOT THIS ISSUE IS. I HAVE STOPPED WATCHING FOX ON WEEKENDS BECAUSE IT WAS TAKEN OVER BY SHOE SHINE BOY GERALDO. IT IS RUMORED THAT CERTAIN EDITORS IN THE TRADE REFUSE TO SIGN OFF ON SOME OF GERALDO’S WORK. HE IS MSNBC PERSONIFIED AWAITING HIS CALL FROM CASTRO.

THE ONLY WOMAN TO WEAR A FLAG PIN ON FOX WAS DONNA FIDUCIA. THEY GOT RID OF HER. I THINK BECAUSE SHE WOULD NOT SHOW LEG.

HANNITY WHO I LOVE SHED HIS PIN 30 DAYS AFTER ALAN STALIN COLMES TORE HIS OFF IN A DOCTOR STRANGELOVE RAGE. NOV 29TH 2001 RIGHT AFTER THE PARADE.

YOU CAN’T MISS ME WHEN I TAKE OVER FOX’S THE O’DOODLE FACTOR. I’LL BE WEARING MY CHRISTOPHER WALKEN SMOKING JACKET FLANKED BY TWO FEMALE REPORTERS WEARING ABU GHRAIB NEGLIGES. THEY WILL BE PAYING ME TO KEEP QUIET.

YES SOMEONE AT FOX’S HENHOUSE IS PLAYING THE LIBERAL DOZENS. THEY ARE BANKING ON LOSING 20% OF THE CONSERVATIVE VIEWERSHIP BUT PICKING UP 50% OF THE DEMONCRATS PLUS ALL THE REHAB UNITS AND PRO CHOICE CHOP SHOPS.

They know we are now apathetic toward what is going on in politics and in US opionons on public awareness to these.  I was in venezuela prior to the strikes in 2002 where it was too late for them to change what Chavez was doing to the country… they openly admitted that they allowed a person that tried to overthrow the country previously to win the election based on the predominant vote of the non working population based on his promise to give them money.  All of which has not happened and now conditions are worse now than they were then… We cannot afford to go down that road…

RL, I’m certainly not a fan of Chavez - but I do think the US has him to thank for the fact that we do not already have a WEstern Hemisphere Union.

This was something that this President wanted, according to his father.  He went to a meeting of the OAS in Mexico and I really thought we would be getting an announcement of a move toward that.

Instead we began getting all manner of bad talk about Chavez from this administration.  At the time, I thought Chavez had probably axed Pres. Bush’s plans.  Some years later, Vicente Fox pretty much confirmed that.  He was talking, in an interview, about how Chavez had refused to deal with them on trade.

True, Chavez has his own agenda for a ‘union’ I think, but he may have given us some breathing room to wake the people of this country up to what is planned.

If FOX News is starting to appeal to liberals and beginning to lose its conservative audience, then FOX must be smartening up.  They realize that, over the past 8 years,  Dubya Bush has turned “conservative” into a dirty word.  If Geoprge Carlin were still alive, George would probably add “conservative” as an eighth bad word that can no longer be said on TV.  No wonder Rupert Murdoch has predicted an Obama landslide this year.  Rush may not be Right, but Murdoch certainly is.

Even Laura Ingraham went easy on libs on her new show on Fox.
Fox has been moving more left with each passing day.
They are either afraid of Mudoch or of being called racist for daring to confront and criticize Obama’s proposed policies and his continual gaffs on the campaign trail.
It’s sad to see Fox turn into a bunch of wusses.

No media is, and no media has, confronted Obama.

If Fox news had wanted to be honest about Obama, they have had years to do it.  They could have been ferreting out the truths while all the other media was gushing over him.

They haven’t really been conservartive - they have been supporters of this administration.

Fox News is big enough, they aren’t afraid of being called racist.

I must say I’m wondering about Murdoch. For years the left has been painting him as the devil and a right-wing nutcase. Hell they even caricatured him in a 007 flick several years ago (Tomorrow Never Dies).

Since News Corp took over the Wall Street Journal I’ve been noticing a more leftward spin on a lot of the articles. Now they even have a Cynthia Tucker clone on the Opinion pages (OpinionJournal.com). (Thomas Frank: The Tilting Yard column).

Sad.

Because of things read, seen, and heard, I concluded that Obama and his wife were establishment liberals first, Democrats second, blacks third, and American’s fourth.  With the revelations regarding Frank Marshall Davis I conclude that poor old America is now in fifth place.

Mine is based mostly on feelings as in opinions formed when he first was ‘annointed’ by the media.

I think something far more sinister is first, don’t think liberal/democrats comes into play except as a vehicle for him, ditto for being ‘black’ and America may not even be in the running - except the target.
