Trump Threatens “North American Union” Scheme

As Rush Limbaugh notes, Donald Trump has indeed made illegal immigration into an issue of national debate. The liberal media and now, apparently, the chairman of the Republican Party, have objected to Trump’s comments about criminal aliens. In fact, what Trump has done is jeopardize a plan that goes way beyond mere amnesty for illegals, and which has been on the drawing board for more than a decade. Simply put, the plan is to submerge the sovereignty of the United States of America and politically integrate the U.S., Canada, and Mexico into a trilateral entity called the North American Union.

The Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) calls it a “North American Community,” as if the corrupt culture and government of Mexico can be made to mesh with democratic systems in the U.S. and Canada. It means open borders and more criminal aliens in the U.S.

Accuracy in Media attended a conference on the topic of North American economic and political integration in 2007 which included proposals for a North American Court of Justice (with the authority to overrule a decision of the U.S. Supreme Court), a North American Trade Tribunal, and a Charter of Fundamental Human Rights for North America, also dubbed the North American Social Charter.

The major media won’t report on this because major Republicans and Democrats are in on it. Much of the scheme was hatched under the Republican administration of George W. Bush, but it is now being carried forward by President Obama.

It turns out that Trump has only scratched the surface of a scandal that threatens American sovereignty and would make it easier for millions more Mexicans to come into the U.S. completely legally.

As he takes on the media in tough interviews and holds his ground, even turning the tables on shallow liberals like CNN’s Anderson Cooper and NBC’s Katy Tur, Trump has found one fellow candidate who is sympathetic. Republican Senator Ted Cruz of Texas said, “I think he’s terrific. I think he’s brash. I think he speaks the truth.”

But this is somewhat ironic since Cruz’s wife, Heidi, an investment banker, was a member of a Council on Foreign Relations Task Force, which in 2005 developed a plan for a “North American Community.” The recommendations of this panel included a multi-billion dollar North American Investment Fund to pull Mexico out of poverty, a North American Border Pass to facilitate travel between the countries, and expansion of “temporary worker programs.”

In 2011, when he was running for the Republican Senate nomination, Cruz had called the CFR “a pernicious nest of snakes” that is “working to undermine our sovereignty.”

In addition to serving as a member of the CFR, Mrs. Cruz, a graduate of Harvard Business School, served in the Bush White House under Dr. Condoleezza Rice as the Economic Director for the Western Hemisphere at the National Security Council, as the Director of the Latin America Office at the U.S. Treasury Department, and as Special Assistant to Ambassador Robert B. Zoellick, U.S. Trade Representative. Her CFR bio said, “Prior to government service, Ms. Cruz was an investment banker with J.P. Morgan in New York City.”

Today she is a managing director at the investment banking firm Goldman Sachs in Houston, but is reportedly on leave from the position while her husband runs for president.

Perhaps the key figure in the CFR task force was the late Robert Pastor, a former official of the Carter administration and director of the Center for North American Studies at American University. He wrote the book, Toward a North American Community.

President Clinton had nominated Pastor to be Ambassador to Panama after he had been instrumental in the giveaway of our Panama Canal under Jimmy Carter. But the late Senator Jesse Helms (R-NC), the then-powerful chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, prevented a vote on his nomination, on the ground that he was aiding radical forces and undermining U.S. interests in the region. Pastor, who had been an official of the Clinton-Gore campaign, withdrew his nomination.

Pastor tried to play down the idea that a North American Community would develop into anything resembling the European Union, which is regarded by many as a bureaucratic entity that can supersede the sovereignty of its member countries.

But the Bush administration was viewed as facilitating the process of creating a North American economic, social and political entity through a process called the Security and Prosperity Partnership (SPP).

The dangers were so great that the late Howard Phillips of the Conservative Caucus formed a “Coalition to Block the North American Union” in 2007, to highlight how a North American Union would run roughshod over U.S. constitutional processes and guarantees.

Yet, President Obama has continued the process and, after meeting with the leaders of Mexico and Canada in 2014, said plans for a “North American Transportation Plan” and a “North American Trusted Traveler Program” to facilitate travel and exchanges would go forward. The next North American Leaders’ Summit is scheduled for this fall.

The idea of an annual North American summit meeting was one of the recommendations of that 2005 CFR task force.

Jerry Corsi of WorldNetDaily has noted that the criticism of the CFR put Senator Cruz in an uncomfortable position, since his wife had been a member of the powerful group.

“I support the Task Force report and its recommendations aimed at building a safer and more prosperous North America,” Mrs. Cruz said in an additional statement in the CFR report. She also urged that economic investment in the region “be led and perpetuated by the private sector.”

At some point, if Senator Cruz is himself serious about his praise of Donald Trump’s tough stand and comments about illegal immigration, Mrs. Cruz may have to come forward to explain her involvement in the CFR panel’s controversial work.

Trump being a registered Democrat until recently and having given 10s of thousands of dollars to liberal Democrats including Hillary is on record.

Trump’s view on illegals, he was not bothered by them all these years until just recently.

A few years ago, Trump bashed Romney for being too tough on this issue.

Trump’s view on immigration was utterly conventional–he wanted a “comprehensive solution” to accommodate immigrants who want to be “wonderful productive citizens,” and thought Romney’s policy of attrition (infamously described as self-deportation) was “maniacal” and mean-spirited:

“The Democrats didn’t have a policy for dealing with illegal immigrants, but what they did have going for them is they weren’t mean-spirited about it,” Trump says. “They didn’t know what the policy was, but what they were is they were kind.”

Romney’s solution of “self deportation” for illegal aliens made no sense and suggested that Republicans do not care about Hispanics in general, Trump says.

“He had a crazy policy of self deportation which was maniacal,” Trump says. “It sounded as bad as it was, and he lost all of the Latino vote,” Trump notes. “He lost the Asian vote. He lost everybody who is inspired to come into this country.”

The GOP has to develop a comprehensive policy “to take care of this incredible problem that we have with respect to immigration, with respect to people wanting to be wonderful productive citizens of this country,” Trump says.

Great article, Cliff! To those who don’t believe in conspiracies, what else do you call it when politicians sell the people a free trade agreement and forget to mention that it will one day be a political body. The EU was once called a European Community. The people denied and denied that it would one day be a political institution. Today 80% of the laws in the UK are made in Brussels. The EU, South American Union, African Union all started out as trade agreements. They are building world government right in front of people’s eyes and nearly all the world can’t even see it. No wonder the elites think they are immune from the law.

I firmly believe that communists are behind the conspiracy. Communist International 1936 stated:

He already did explain her “involvement”, which was peripheral and focused only the private sector capitalism aspect. John Bolton was also on that panel with Heidi Cruz. She was one of the few explicitly Conservative members.

Your throwaway lines are not good journalism, Mr. Kincaid. You offered very little reference or detail in you muffled assertion that somehow she is an “internationalist” because she had a role that was narrowly focused. Perhaps you are too busy to adequately do background research before you pop off on someone who is stalwart Conservative Tea Party supporter, a brilliant economist, and one who works in a generally Jewish and liberal company, but keeps her identity and affiliations regardless.

You owe your readers a mea culpa, for shoddy journalism.

This is one idea The Donald deserves credit for blowing the whistle, shining the light or whatever it takes to bring to the public’s attention. Yes, we have three countries that have pledges friendship, etc etc etc, but . . . but in the interest of all three nations, the concept makes no sense whatesover. Mexico has a strange one-party rule form of government, not to mention horrible corruption and this has led to unspeakable crimes committed by the drug bosses on both Mexicans and foreigners alike and it’s really hard to tell who’s running the show from one moment to the next. (And I don’t care what system of government we have, our republican form, or Canada’s parliamentary system … dealing with Mexico as she stands now is difficult enough under most circumstances . . . mixing our system in with Canada’s and Canada’s with Mexico makes for a three-ring circus fit only for public administration majors and post graduate “what if” addicts and policy wonks. Nobody else. I hope the Canadians hold their noses on this and get Obama to avoid taking one of W’s dumbest ideas short of invading Iraq.

Even a veto proof vote of 67% is just a 34.17% representation if the representatives only won with 51%.
Add in a primary with a 51% win and that makes the representation only 17.4267% assuming everyone votes who legally can.
Since only 49% on average does that would change the representation to for a veto proof bill less than 9% if the primary and general election wins are 51%.
The leadership of the actual ruling classes in most of the various develop nations wants to dominate the world and do that through appointed representatives but of course each prefers their group to do the ruling so there is a big competition to rule the world.

Fund the Federal government only two ways.
1. An American price plus 10% federal tax on imported goods, imported services and immigrants who are not US citizens working in the US.
The import will always be 10% higher at least on price.
2. The Balance would come from an equal per capita tax on each state with encouragement that the state government pay the tax for the people and business in the state using the revenue sources of the state government not a one size fits all preferred by congress and K street Lobbyist.
Also encourage the states to assume the federal debt and the obligations to those who paid federal payroll taxes and every state government will do that to get the big credit..

one correction, in the US as in the rest of the developed world it is the political class that is the ruling class although some mega wealthy people who are not government office holders or even government bureaucrats is in competition to either rule the nation or to rule the world.
In the US the ruling class has 546 members only- 435 US House members, 100 US Senators, 9 US Supreme Court Judges, the US President and the US Vice President but it only takes 218 to rule in the House, 60 to rule in the Senate although 51 can when they feel like it and 5 US Supreme Court Judges plus the president.
Without the president 290 House members, 67 US Senators can rule plus 218 House members and 67 US Senators can remove the president and Supreme Court Judges from office thus the ruling class in the US is actually less than 358 members of congress.

I have to be honest and say that one year ago I couldn’t stand Trump.
