Accuracy in Media

Christopher Hale, of a group called Catholics in Alliance for the Common Good, has emerged on CNN and Fox News as a defender of Pope Francis against Rush Limbaugh’s charges that the pontiff spews Marxism.

The stories on CNN and Fox News cited Hale as a critic of Limbaugh and defender of the pope without noting his group’s connections to George Soros, the billionaire atheist, and that Hale worked on the “National Faith Vote Team” for the “Obama for America” 2012 presidential campaign organization.

Hale was also an intern in the Obama White House and worked for House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA).

Frank Walker of the conservative Pewsitter website labels the group a religious and political Trojan Horse designed to mislead Catholics and produce votes for the Democratic Party. Soros, the major financial backer of the Democratic Party’s “progressive” base, also supports such causes as drug legalization, the rights of “sex workers” and felons, euthanasia, radical feminism, abortion rights and homosexual rights.

The Fox story by Lauren Green, which aired on Bret Baier’s “Special Report” on Wednesday night, highlighted Hale’s criticism of Limbaugh and defense of the pope, without noting that the papal document “The Joy of the Gospel” had criticized conservative economic policies, dubbed “trickle-down” by the Vatican. Green misidentified the papal document as “The Gospel of Joy.”

Hale told Fox that the pope only wants “human-centered capitalism” promoting “people over profits,” and that he is challenging both liberals and conservatives. But that is not how Limbaugh and other conservatives are seeing it.

The Vatican document is emerging as cannon fodder for the Obama administration as it tries to change the subject from the pitfalls of socialized medicine to “inequality,” low paid workers and other social problems.

On Wednesday, in a speech to the Center for American Progress, another Soros-funded group, President Obama favorably cited the pope’s remarks. Obama said, “Some of you may have seen just last week, the pope himself spoke about this at eloquent length. ‘How can it be,’ he wrote, ‘that it is not a news item when an elderly homeless person dies of exposure, but it is news when the stock market loses two points?’”

But conservative Catholic writer Victor Biorseth countered, “We are already seeing how collectivism kills right here in America with the bare beginnings of Obamacare, which is a government controlled redistribution of both health care itself and health care insurance. In all likelihood people have already died, and many, many more will die, due to the critically ill losing their doctors, losing their health care facilities, being required to start treatment procedures all over again, not being able to, and losing their insurance coverage.”

Biorseth calls it “trickle-down collectivism.”

As AIM has reported, Catholics in Alliance for the Common Good received at least $200,000 from George Soros and offered a “Health Care Reform Prayer,” asking for God’s help in passing Obamacare.

We noted that the executive director of Catholics in Alliance for the Common Good (CACG) at the time was Victoria Kovari, a former organizer for the Gamaliel Foundation, the same group that helped launch Barack Obama’s career as a community organizer in Chicago. She had also served as co-chair of Catholics for Obama.

The chairman of CACG is Alfred M. Rotondaro, a senior fellow at the Center for American Progress.

How Catholics in Alliance for the Common Good became a source for stories attacking Limbaugh on Fox News and CNN is itself an interesting story.

It was first promoted as a “Catholic” group that is opposed to Limbaugh, by Media Matters, which is also Soros-funded. Catholics in Alliance for the Common Good had launched a campaign to “Tell Rush Limbaugh: We support Pope Francis!” It went on, “To call the Francis a proponent of ‘pure marxism’ is both mean spirited and naive. Francis’s critique of unrestrained capitalism is in line with the Church’s social teaching.”

While he found parts of the document on evangelism to be worthwhile, Catholic writer Biorseth also took issue with the pope’s statement that Islam is a peaceful religion. The pope had declared that “authentic Islam and the proper reading of the Koran are opposed to every form of violence.”

Biorseth countered, “No they are not. All the Koran’s violent verses instructing disciples to either convert us all to the religion of Islam, subjugate us all under Islamic law, or kill us all, were the later verses, after the flight to Medina, abrogating and replacing all the earlier more peaceful verses written at Mecca. Ask an Imam. Violent jihad is preached in virtually every Mosque on earth; all good Moslems will, at the very least, give moral support and not oppose terrorist acts done in the name of jihad. That’s just the way it is.”

Before he issued his document on “The Joy of the Gospel,” Pope Francis met in the Vatican with Russian President Vladimir Putin, the former KGB officer who now claims to be a Christian.

In the matter of the Pope’s referral to an “authentic” Islam the following comment is in order.

    Pope: ‘Authentic’ Islam opposes violence
Says ‘non-Christians’ can live ‘justified by the grace of God’
    http://www.wnd.com/2013/11/pope-authentic-islam-opposes-violence/

I guess all of those Christians that died trying to free the Holy Land died for nothing. I guess all of those Christians that died in the Christian fleet trying to save Europe from being overtaken by Islam at the Battle of Lepanto died for nothing.

I would presume that authentic Islam sees nothing wrong with the Quran. Here are some examples of what the Quran says.

    ————————————

    http://www.thereligionofpeace.com/quran/023-violence.htm

The Quran contains at least 109 verses that call Muslims to war with nonbelievers for the sake of Islamic rule. Some are quite graphic, with commands to chop off heads and fingers and kill infidels wherever they may be hiding. Muslims who do not join the fight are called ‘hypocrites’ and warned that Allah will send them to Hell if they do not join the slaughter.

Unfortunately, there are very few verses of tolerance and peace to abrogate or even balance out the many that call for nonbelievers to be fought and subdued until they either accept humiliation, convert to Islam, or are killed. Muhammad’s own martial legacy – and that of his companions – along with the remarkable stress on violence found in the Quran have produced a trail of blood and tears across world history.

    The Quran:

    Quran (2:191-193)
    – “And kill them wherever you find them, and turn them out from where they have turned you out. And Al-Fitnah [disbelief] is worse than killing… but if they desist, then lo!

Allah is forgiving and merciful. And fight them until there is no more Fitnah [disbelief and worshipping of others along with Allah] and worship is for Allah alone. But if they cease, let there be no transgression except against Az-Zalimun (the polytheists, and wrong-doers, etc.)” The historical context of this passage is not defensive warfare, since Muhammad and his Muslims had just relocated to Medina and were not under attack by their Meccan adversaries. In fact, the verses urge offensive warfare, in that Muslims are to drive Meccans out of their own city (which they later did). The use of the word “persecution” by some Muslim translators is thus disingenuous (the actual Muslim words for persecution – “idtihad” – and oppression – a variation of “z-l-m” – do not appear in the verse). The actual Arabic comes from “fitna” which can mean disbelief, or the disorder that results from unbelief or temptation. Taken as a whole, the context makes clear that violence is being authorized until “religion is for Allah” – ie. unbelievers desist in their unbelief.

    Quran (2:244)
    – “Then fight in the cause of Allah, and know that Allah Heareth and knoweth all things.”

    Quran (2:216)
    – “Fighting is prescribed for you, and ye dislike it. But it is possible that ye dislike a thing which is good for you, and that ye love a thing which is bad for you. But Allah knoweth, and ye know not.” Not only does this verse establish that violence can be virtuous, but it also contradicts the myth that fighting is intended only in self-defense, since the audience was obviously not under attack at the time. From the Hadith, we know that this verse was narrated at a time that Muhammad was actually trying to motivate his people into raiding merchant caravans for loot.

    Quran (3:56)
    – “As to those who reject faith, I will punish them with terrible agony in this world and in the Hereafter, nor will they have anyone to help.”

    Quran (3:151)
    – “Soon shall We cast terror into the hearts of the Unbelievers, for that they joined companions with Allah, for which He had sent no authority”. This speaks directly of polytheists, yet it also includes Christians, since they believe in the Trinity (ie. what Muhammad incorrectly believed to be ‘joining companions to Allah’).

    Quran (4:74)
    – “Let those fight in the way of Allah who sell the life of this world for the other. Whoso fighteth in the way of Allah, be he slain or be he victorious, on him We shall bestow a vast reward.” The martyrs of Islam are unlike the early Christians, led meekly to the slaughter. These Muslims are killed in battle, as they attempt to inflict death and destruction for the cause of Allah. Here is the theological basis for today’s suicide bombers.

    Quran (4:76)
    – “Those who believe fight in the cause of Allah…”

    Quran (4:89)
    – “They but wish that ye should reject Faith, as they do, and thus be on the same footing (as they): But take not friends from their ranks until they flee in the way of Allah (From what is forbidden). But if they turn renegades, seize them and slay them wherever ye find them; and (in any case) take no friends or helpers from their ranks.”

    Quran (4:95)
    – “Not equal are those believers who sit (at home) and receive no hurt, and those who strive and fight in the cause of Allah with their goods and their persons. Allah hath granted a grade higher to those who strive and fight with their goods and persons than to those who sit (at home). Unto all (in Faith) Hath Allah promised good: But those who strive and fight Hath He distinguished above those who sit (at home) by a special reward,-” This passage criticizes “peaceful” Muslims who do not join in the violence, letting them know that they are less worthy in Allah’s eyes. It also demolishes the modern myth that “Jihad” doesn’t mean holy war in the Quran, but rather a spiritual struggle. Not only is the Arabic word used in this passage, but it is clearly not referring to anything spiritual, since the physically disabled are given exemption. (The Hadith reveals the context of the passage to be in response to a blind man’s protest that he is unable to engage in Jihad and this is reflected in other translations of the verse).

    Quran (4:104)
    – “And be not weak hearted in pursuit of the enemy; if you suffer pain, then surely they (too) suffer pain as you suffer pain…” Is pursuing an injured and retreating enemy really an act of self-defense?

    Quran (5:33)
    – “The punishment of those who wage war against Allah and His messenger and strive to make mischief in the land is only this, that they should be murdered or crucified or their hands and their feet should be cut off on opposite sides or they should be imprisoned; this shall be as a disgrace for them in this world, and in the hereafter they shall have a grievous chastisement”

The reason that the Pope bears watching is very simple when one understands the Marxist Socialist Liberation theology that he’s come from, per my understanding while in Argentina, which is something that he and Obama have in common, i.e., a sympathy for communism.

The supernatural, i.e., the spiritual is the priority of the Church, i.e., getting souls to Heaven, NOT hell. Jesus gave us that priority when He told is in the Gospel that the poor you will always have with you, but Me only a short time! That priority is the ONLY reason for the Church and her priests existence with everything else in the Gospel supporting that seminal Truth Who is a Someone, not a something, per the Gospel.

This is how I see it. The Marxists have individuals that they’ve long coveted in positions of power. It will be up to Catholics and Americans in more than name only to fight the forthcoming intended Red Revolutions by standing up for the invariant Teaching Magisterium of their Church on faith and morals that has been allowed to be bastardized by apostates, clergy and laity alike, masquerading as Catholic, and the founding documents of a free America in The Declaration of Independence that was fulfilled in The Constitution respectively, a Constitution that is not living in that it can be changed or ignored at the whim of traitors masquerading as Americans to suit their nefarious ends but rather a firm rock upon which to stand as a beacon of freedom worldwide with the Church’s traditional beacon on faith and morals being a guide, not dimmed by the likes of enablers to the demise of an authentic freedom not to be confused with license needed to survive morally as well as materially!

A Catholic friend made the following observation:

“If the Pope wants to demonize Capitalism, then he must state what he’s FOR, i.e., what system would he recommend instead. He may as well endorse Socialism. The truth is that free-market Capitalism is the best economic system ever devised by man to lift people OUT of poverty. It’s designed to lift them up if they want to be lifted up. If they want to lay on their butts, then they won’t be lifted up. It’s really that simple. Sure, a few bad actors can give any economic model a bad name, but in general, American Capitalism has done more for humanity in two centuries than all other systems have done COMBINED have done in two millennia.”

In the very short time of the pontificate of Pope Francis the Pope has managed to get praise from practically every major organ of dissent masquerading as Catholic within the Church, to especially include the Jesuit rag, America Magazine, defending the indefensible in regard to the Pope’s very problematic flippant statements causing nothing but grave confusion in the Church, and the antichrist masquerading as president and his minions, which is no small accomplishment!

All we ever hear from the pews is preaching about the physically impoverished but NEVER any preaching about the morally impoverished which is the only reason for the Church’s existence, and her priests, i.e., to get souls to Heaven instead of hell.

Jesus said that the poor you will always have with you, but Me only for a short time showing that THE priority in the Church is the SUPERNATURAL!

Last I saw the Spiritual Works of Mercy are the priority over the Corporal.

    http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/10198d.htm

What I’m noticing is something of grave concern, as evinced by the body language of Pope Francis which is anything but humble despite his protests to the contrary, i.e., I find it contradictory to claim humility while at the same time claiming to be ambitious! Most of those whom I found to be truly humble in my readings and in person never felt the need to broadcast that they are. Francis seems to relish the limelight, i.e., he can’t wait to get in front of a mike or recorder to take his latest potshots at what is traditionally Catholic, which I find, as a Catholic fighting the culture wars since the mid 90s by treading water in a sea of heterodoxy due to having the rug pulled out from under him by apostates masquerading as Catholic, clergy and laity alike, in his own backyard, to be very disturbing, apostates which , no doubt, are positively giddy that they finally got the pope they wanted.

Incredibly, the pope’s recent comments trash the traditional Catholic teaching that an informed conscience in accord with the invariant teaching Magisterium of the Church on faith and morals is necessary for Catholics in more than name only to navigate this vale of tears firmly in the grip of the father-of-lies for salvation’s sake!

Where in the teaching Magisterium of the Church is there the slightest inference that a Catholic’s conscience includes the possibility of having none when it comes to Catholic moral teaching?

Don’t bother to look. It’s not there!

This headline says “Pope Francis takes papacy to people?”

    http://www.foxnews.com/world/2013/11/11/pope-francis-takes-papacy-to-people-drawing-both-crowds-and-criticism/

    I have a better idea.

How about taking the people to Heaven, which is the only reason for your existence as a priest in standing in contradiction to the world instead of accommodating it?

As I see it, what Francis is proposing to do to the Catholic Church is to transform it into something unrecognizable as Catholic in the same way that Obama is transforming American into something unrecognizable as American. At the root of both transformations is sympathy for Communism which both men have in common!

REAL Catholics in more than name only, and REAL Americans in more than name only, must RESIST these Godless transformations TO THEIR FACE, transformations which flout the invariant moral teaching of the Church’s Magisterium on Faith and Morals, as well as The Constitution, which is the fulfillment of The Declaration of Independence, which put a priority on obedience to the “laws of nature, and of nature’s God” for America’s survival. Too much is at stake not to do so, i.e., our eternity!

At a time when the world is firmly in the grip of the father-of-lies, the moral beacon that is the Church is needed more than ever, a beacon that the dissenters have long since tried to extinguish, dissenters who have been given a free rein by apostates in Rome to do so.

Catholics who know and are trying to live the faith are not about to let anyone steal it from them, regardless of who that might be from the lowest layman in the pew to the pope whose OPINIONS on matters of faith and morals when they are directly counter to the teaching Magisterium of Holy Mother Church are owed no obedience whatsoever in the same manner that an antichrist like Obama’s are owed no obedience when they are directly counter to The Constitution!

Excellent Article Mr. Cliff Kincaid…Thanks for keeping us informed.

I had read in New Oxford Review, one of the more orthodox Catholic magazines, that a press release had been issued on the election of the new pope, an Italian cardinal, by the Vatican press office, which was then forced to withdraw the announcement and re-issue a release declaring the now-pope Francis as the victor. This sounds like the work of Marxists, to include more elections in this country where Democrats undo legitimate results and impose their will on voters. Another interesting note, to me, is that there was never a Francis prior to this pope. St. Francis of Assisi is one of the best known, and best liked of saints even among non-Catholics and agnostics even, and this also is typical of how Marxists operate.

Marxist: Best known hi-jackers known to mankind!
Thanks, I had forgotten about the first named being withdrawn. Which goes to prove to me even more… Pope Francis is in fact, Pope Peter of Rome.
Why is the Vatican lying about this ‘Pope’s’ actual birth Country!!
