Accuracy in Media

It sounds like a sensational charge. “Twelve years after we were attacked by al Qaeda, 12 years after 3,000 Americans were killed by al Qaeda, President Obama now asks us to be allies with al Qaeda,” Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) says.

But support for the senator’s point came in the form of an NBC Nightly News report by correspondent Richard Engel on Wednesday night. Anchor Brian Williams described it as “an exclusive look at how al Qaeda is increasingly in this fight,” in Syria.

Reporting from southern Turkey, Engel said, “The U.S. has decided it is not going to intervene in Syria, at least for now. But al Qaeda is. Every day we see its fighters in this city in the streets, at the airports, heading into Syria.”

Engel interviewed someone named Abu Abdul Rahman, on his way to Syria to fight with al Qaeda. “We have a prayer. Oh, Allah. Please annihilate enemies. Bashar is an enemy. America is an enemy. Let them fight.”

He says, “This was a dream for me to wage jihad, to bleed for Allah.”

Despite the claim about the U.S. not intervening, The Washington Post reports that the Obama administration is going ahead anyway, and that “The CIA has begun delivering weapons to rebels in Syria, ending months of delay in lethal aid that had been promised by the Obama administration…” The cost is estimated at $250 million.

The Post claims the aid is “aimed at supporting rebel fighters who are under the command of Gen. Salim Idris,” a so-called “moderate,” but quotes officials as saying there are fears that assistance “could wind up in the hands of jihadists.” One official insisted, “We vet individuals who are getting our assistance to make sure they are not affiliated with terror organizations.”

Other than “vetting,” whatever that means, the paper did not explain any more about the safeguards in place to stop the weapons and other aid from getting into the hands of al Qaeda.

The “moderate” General Idris, a favorite of the Obama Administration and Al Jazeera, told the Muslim Brotherhood channel in a May 8 video interview that “Israel is an enemy country,” and that Assad and the Lebanese terrorist group Hezbollah are “Israeli collaborators.”

These are hardly “moderate” comments.

The Post said the secret CIA policy had the support of Republican Senator Bob Corker (TN), “who has pressed the Obama administration to do more to help the rebels.” Corker is the ranking member of the Foreign Relations Committee and voted for a resolution authorizing war in Syria.

Mike Flynn of Breitbart mocked Corker as one of the “big thinkers” in the Republican Party, who believes “that we aren’t arming jihadis quickly enough.”

A smuggler told NBC’s Engel that he had moved 300 foreign fighters from Turkey to Syria in the past four months, and many other smugglers are “doing exactly the same thing.” In al Qaeda-controlled areas of Syria, Engel reported how “Islamic justice” is meted out: public executions, and a man being whipped for marrying a woman too soon after her divorce.

In an earlier report, Engel noted, “Al Qaeda put out the call to go to Syria and it was answered.”

He reported, “The al-Nusra Front used to be the worst, the hardest of the hardcore Islamists, earning a spot on the State Department’s list of terrorist groups. But now, Nusra has been surpassed by newer, more bloodthirsty gangs. The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (also known as ISIS) is more radical than Nusra. So are the Mohajeroun, ‘the migrants.’”

Engel asked, “So who exactly would the United States be helping if it bombed Syria? We don’t really know. Neither do many Syrians. In some ways Washington would be providing air support for al Qaeda-backed fighters. The extremists would benefit from U.S. military intervention and try to make advances. But attacking Assad’s regime would also help the FSA [Free Syrian Army] and its moderate leader General Salim Idris, a U.S. ally.”

The idea of “moderates” in the opposition is an idea popularized by the discredited Elizabeth O’Bagy, just fired by the Institute for the Study of War for claiming a non-existent Ph.D. She had been a regular commentator on television and a major source of information for the Obama administration and Republican Senator John McCain (R-AZ).

She is apparently still serving as the “political director” of the Syrian Emergency Task Force, a pro-rebel group. Her work for the organization had been concealed by the media, including The Wall Street Journal, which promoted her views about “moderates” in the Syrian opposition.

Obama or his lobby doesn’t like America and no matter what it is they want to act to destroy it’s foundation to superimpose their own immorality. The very people that don’t want any one to violate their rights are the same people that want an imperialist Muslim like state. According to Obama , he wants our soldiers to fight Al Qaeda and the Taliban all week and come home and look at issues of Muslim Men Weekly Magazine ! What to heck ! Al Qaeda’s into it ! lol !

Obama’s Defense Department Says Catholics, Evangelicals, Jews, And Mormons Are “Extremists” Like Al-Qaeda

  • Let’s face it, Obama had already begun supplying weapons to Al-Qaeda via Libya. This is Fast and Furious – Allahu Akbar style.

OK. Let me get this straight…the president wants to arm the Syrian rebels, full well knowing that the rebels are aligned with Al Qaeda. The United States is at war with Al Qaeda. So the president wants to help Al Qaeda gain access to American military hardware and assist them in their bloodlust for ultimately, world domination. Hmm. Helping an Enemy of the United States in a time of War. What is that called? Oh yeah. Treason.

“Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort. No Person shall be convicted of Treason unless on the Testimony of two Witnesses to the same overt Act, or on Confession in open Court.” (U.S. Constitution: Article III, Section 3, Clause 1)

“The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors.” (U.S. Constitution: Article II, Section 4)

How nice of the Founding Fathers to clearly define what Treason is, what can be done about it right in our Constitution.

Has not the president said on national television many times, for all to hear, that he wants to give military aid to the Syrian rebels in their quest to overthrow the standing government there?

The formula is clear, the variables defined, and given. I believe the answer is indisputable, indubitable.
Then, there are those will say, “but he was not successful; he wasn’t able to carry it out”, etc.

Benedict Arnold tried but failed to commit Treason, but still fled to avoid his inevitable conviction and hanging. Incompetence or Providence being against you is no reason for acquittal or refusal to prosecute.
There it is: I gave you the formula, as defined by the Constitution; I gave you the legend for the variables; I gave you the variables. All you have to do is put the variables into the formula, and solve. The solution should be simple and clear.

No, Al-Qaeda is not extremist, it’s “moderate”. Only Christians, Tea Party Patriots, Second Amendment supporters, Conservatives and Jews are “extremists”.

  • Richard Hellstrom

So who is that shooting women and children down in the street and performing historical Jihad in Syria for Obama ! The Christians , The Jews , Second Amendment Supporters , Conservatives or those moderate Al Qaeda members who keep moving chemical weapons through Turkey for Obama ! Under the McCain , Kerry , Obama policy of they can’t wait to go have them some sex with them their Al Qaeda members , you should do well !

I hope you were being rhetorical – lol

  • joshuasweet

As long as the Muslim Brotherhood is involved as is Al Qaeda Obama will do all he can to support them no matter what, as can be seen in the current issues of the Chemical weapons use that Obama blames on Assad’s government with out any verifiable proof other than the word of the “Rebels” who just happen to be Muslim Brotherhood and Al Qaeda.

This website is an absolute joke. Its mission is supposedly to “expose politically motivated media bias,” but all it is is a bunch of extremely nutty rightwing propaganda and conspiracy theories. Are you people serious? Read some real OBJECTIVELY FACTUAL news, not these obviously skewed smears. And yet nobody seems to have picked up on the irony that an organization called “accuracy in media” is just a mouthpiece for right wing nuts. Insane. Educate yourselves. Take off the tinfoil hats.
