Accuracy in Media

The big story of the 2016 presidential campaign has been the dishonest and lopsided coverage by the corporate media. Media bias against Donald J. Trump has been designed to obscure his controversial message that the elites are planning another assault on American sovereignty. Lately, Trump has spelled out his concerns in specific detail, saying his opponents favor “global government.” This is a serious charge. Is it true?

One notable exception to the media bias has been Lou Dobbs of the Fox Business Network. He has openly sided with Trump. Indeed, Dobbs was sounding the alarm about bad trade deals and the prospect of regional and world government when he had a show on CNN.

More than a year ago, in our column, “Trump Threatens ‘North American Union’ Scheme,” we anticipated the issue that would make Trump into Public Enemy Number One of the Washington establishment. We wrote that, by emphasizing the porous nature of the southern border, Trump had jeopardized “a plan that goes way beyond mere amnesty for illegals, and which has been on the drawing board for more than a decade. Simply put, the plan is to submerge the sovereignty of the United States of America and politically integrate the U.S., Canada, and Mexico into a trilateral entity called the North American Union.”

The Washington Post on June 22, 2016 tried to ridicule the idea that any such entity is on the drawing board. Adam Taylor wrote, “While the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), which came into force in 1994, ties Canada, Mexico and the United States together in a trilateral trade bloc, there has been no significant attempt to build upon it with a North American Union that could theoretically be compared to the E.U.”

Nevertheless, Taylor writes that “… many Americans view the idea of North American political integration with a deep distrust that can verge on the conspiratorial. Relatively mainstream commentators like Lou Dobbs have suggested that trilateral meetings between the countries were a sign that America’s borders were about to be destroyed, threatening to ‘end the United States as we know it.’”

The Post reporter said such talk came from “fringe websites” and “conspiracy theorists.”

Nine years ago, when Lou Dobbs was on CNN, I appeared on his show to discuss this scheme. I had attended a meeting where such a proposal was discussed in detail. “The holding of the conference was itself evidence that a comprehensive process is underway to merge the economies, and perhaps the social and political systems, of the three countries,” I noted at the time.

I said on the Dobbs show that both political parties “were part of the process” to implement such a scheme. However, the big brain behind the proposal was a Democratic Party operative named Robert Pastor, who was behind Democratic President Jimmy Carter’s successful plan to give away the Panama Canal.

Rather than being ancient history, the secret Hillary Clinton speech about open borders and open trade means that the proposal is still alive. She said, “My dream is a hemispheric common market, with open trade and open borders…”

Trump has rightly noted that “…the central base of world political power is here in America, and it is our corrupt political establishment that is the greatest power behind the efforts at radical globalization and the disenfranchisement of working people.” He added, “Their financial resources are unlimited. Their political resources are unlimited. Their media resources are unlimited. And, most importantly, the depths of their immorality is unlimited.”

There’s a reason why Clinton didn’t want these speeches to be revealed. It wasn’t just because she got paid a lot of money to speak to a bunch of fat cats. It’s because she has a vision of destroying American sovereignty in order to facilitate global trade deals and open America’s borders even more to the rest of the world.

The Post doesn’t want to discuss this because its owner, Amazon billionaire Jeff Bezos, profits from global trade deals.

As Trump adviser Peter Navarro pointed out in a statement targeting The New York Times and The Washington Post, “The New York Times strings are being pulled by Mexico’s Carlos Slim, a billionaire who benefits from NAFTA and supports Hillary Clinton’s open border policies. Amazon, which controls The Washington Post, profits from the flow of illegally subsidized foreign products through its distribution channels. Lower costs mean higher margins—no matter if bad trade deals lead to massive unemployment in America.”

Trump may be the billionaire presidential candidate in the race. But the billionaires with a lot to gain and a lot to lose through global trade deals are backing his opponent. They believe in her vision of regional and even world government.

The corporate media understand the stakes. That is why they want to destroy Trump. But Lou Dobbs, who joined the Fox Business Network in 2010, understands that Trump is threatening the profits of those who have abandoned the American worker. That is why Dobbs continues to hammer NAFTA and the global special interests behind it. He is a breath of fresh air in a corporate media culture that has mostly become an extension of the Democratic Party.

‘The big story of the 2016 presidential campaign has been the dishonest and lopsided coverage by the corporate media.’

In your dreams, Kincaid. To those of us with functioning brains, the big story of the election is the fact that the Republicans nominated the worst major party candidate in US history. The big story was trying to keep up with all of the demented ramblings of a spoiled, thin-skinned, know-nothing narcissist with the emotional stability of a toddler. But sure. Blame the “liberal” media. It’s all you have, really. Pathetic.

  • Medieval Puppyman

You say you have a “functioning brain” yet Obamacare’s going belly up. More and more information about Crooked Hillary’s crimes are being made known to the public. Are all these things – and more – being made up by the GOP and the “know-nothing narcissist”? It’s interesting how you liberal-types love to point out the mote in the eyes of others but fail to see the beam in your own eye along with all the insulting, belittling, discrediting, and even disregarding the most obvious of your failures. You’re not convincing anyone.

  • Mesa Mike

Yes, I’ve always liked Lou Dobbs and thought he’d make a great candidate but I don’t want to see him fed to the Marxicrat sausage machine. When Dobbs returned to CNN after a brief absence from the network, I sent him an e-mail to welcome him back. (I never bother to send anything to CNN — it’s a waste of time — so this was a definite exception.) Dobbs actually sent me a reply, thanking me for my message. That’s a class guy. How many high profile people do that? Very few from my experiences.

  • IronChefSandwiches

Obamacare is NOT going belly up.

NO evidence exists that Clinton committed crimes. None. Shady dealings? Sure. She’s a politician. But crimes? No. And screw you before you even try to argue.

Pull your head out of your butt and then pull your butt out of the right wing bubble. Learn something.

  • ridgerunner94

All we have had, since John F Kennedy, was globalist Democrat and globalist Republican, one maybe a little less willing to sell the farm than the other. Trump is a breath of fresh air. Let’s take back our country.

  • ridgerunner94

Actually, you are way off base. There is not right wing or left wing anything. There are only those who believe in our form of government, as established, and those who don’t. And those who don’t say things like “screw you before you even try to argue.” They are ignorant, poorly educated, and their philosophy is self-destructive.

  • Medieval Puppyman

(LOL) I cannot help but chuckle after reading your response. As a matter of fact, I just did learn something: That you are arrogant and delusional; the typical close-minded, self-righteous liberal. Obamacare is a disaster, and anyone with clarity of thought can gather that much. Crooked Hillary is a totally corrupt and untrustworthy politician, and anyone who is someone can see that. At least you’re willing to admit some of Crooked Hillary’s “shady dealings;” a rather mild term, to say the least. I am not a Republican or a Democrat. I love how you are so condescending and think you got something to school me about – you don’t. The only screwing that’s go on is what Crooked Hillary and her DNC henchmen have in store for us all. The Revolution always devours its own in the end.

  • sox83cubs84

That’s how youi liberals “debate”. “(Don’t) even try to argue”. Translated, that means, “We know we lie through are teeth, but don’t you dare point out the truth, ’cause we’ll bully you and demonize you if you do”. That doesn’t work on me, nor on most of the people who post on this site. Try using facts instead of warning people not to point out your lies…if you dare.

  • jug

You are just earning your Sorros money with your insults, lies and Bull Shjt!
You really should call yourself, “Little Hillary”!

  • Richard Schmidt

Michael Moore actually explained why the American on the street supports Trump. People who pay taxes are fed up. Crony Capitalism is just another word for mindless egalitarianism and centralized socialist government.

  • Richard Schmidt

Hey chef, what’s all the bs you progressives prattle on and on about ‘re “hatred” and “intolerance”.
Calling everyone with whom you disagree stupid exhibits the very kind of classic character to which you so glibly object.
Even trolls should have a modicum of self control.

  • M.

Hey, punk coward, I’m curious, what are you going to pretend to be today? Before you were a “navy officer” (notice the lack of specificity, it is because the generic term he used is as far as his knowledge of the subject goes), maybe this time you can say you’re a space commodore from the Pleiades ha ha ha!

  • M.

It won’t work you filthy contemptible skunk, we’re out of range of your spray, you can put your tail down now.

  • Rae Anderson

Your so called functioning brain is so washed it is PATHETIC.

  • Colorado Conservative

Have to say based upon your post that you do not happen to be one of the millions of Americans who have functioning brains. I would venture to say you are either a brain dead paid Shrillary troll or NeverTrumper. Having seen your posts before “troll” is most likely.

  • IronChefSandwiches

I post here all the time. You are the one that’s new to the party. And I wish I got paid to make fun of you morons. No. I do it for the fun.

  • IronChefSandwiches

Have you listened to Trump’s words? Have you seen the videos of his rallies? If so, how can you, with a straight face, claim that there’s no “hatred” or “intolerance”?

  • IronChefSandwiches

“There is not (sic) right wing or left wing anything.” Quite possible the dumbest words I’ve seen here in weeks.

  • ridgerunner94

Yep, typical response of someone who has no basis in fact; they just spew how they feel.

  • M.

Good to see you again punk coward. Did you have a pleasant weekend playing with the other chimps in your enclosure? You need to practise more, so far you are falling short by quite a distance when you throw what comes out of your back end at us you filth.

  • IronChefSandwiches

No basis in fact? Are you insane? Since you’re the one making the claim, YOU back it up.

  • M.

You dirty coward, if you had to face anyone here in real life, you’d beg and plead to be allowed to go home, you’d soil yourself, you worthless good for nothing filth. Now shut your sewer pipe of a mouth scum.

  • M.

Hey, punk coward, tell us about your exploits as a “navy officer” so we can have a good laugh. We know that in reality a tenth rate punk like you would soil himself upon hearing a sparrow call. You are nothing punk, you’re a grade a-1 zero and an absolute disgrace to your poor family. I feel sorry for them having such a piece of good for nothing dung like you as a relation you contemptible maggot.

  • IronChefSandwiches

Someone doesn’t like being ignored. Awwww. Bye.

  • M.

That’s a good monkey. From now on come when you’re called coward, ha ha ha!

  • Richard Schmidt

I made no such claim. I’m talking to you about you. Pay attention.

  • Otha45

You people should stop arguing with Chef Ironhead, It is a complete waste of time. He is so far out there he is not even on the planet anymore.

  • eric

Even before president Bush our government had already transferred the power to select and interrogate or vet refugees to the United Nations . This gives the United Nations the power to change the politics and the religion of any country . However they may wish . What we see going on England , France and Germany is the results of this global policy . It was the United States that fostered this global policy on them . And this world global policy is coming here if Trump is not elected

  • eric

Reagan was not a member of this club , but he did not seem to realize always what was going on all around him all the time .

  • eric

You might have described our candidate right but i’am so much against the globalists democrats , global republicans along with the globalist media . All sane Americans are forced to take a chance on mr Trump .

  • eric

The transfer of the most important powers of our government to the United nations is treason This it is not our form of government . We sent these people to Washington to govern us not transfer their power to the United Nations . We have to confront this government now either through the ballot box , courts or other methods . if we don’t the United Nations now has the power now to change our demographics enough to change our politics ,democracy even our religion . This government has to have a attitude adjustment now .

  • ridgerunner94

Our elected needed an attitude adjustment a long time ago. For too many years, our elected have been schools by globalists in how they should conduct business. And the first indication is when they call our nation a democracy. We are not a democracy. The U.S.S.R. was a democracy. We are a constitutional republic. There is a huge difference.

  • ridgerunner94

I don’t need to “back it up”. What you need to do is educate yourself on our form of government. You just might discover that you are so far out to lunch that you might need a raft to get back to safe shores.

  • IronChefSandwiches

Sigh. 1) Ridiculous claim by a right wing moron. 2) Liberal says to back it up. 3) Incorrect moron screams NO! Rinse. Repeat. Sigh.

  • IronChefSandwiches

See? HERE is a legitimate criticism that is worthy of a rational argument. HERE is someone making a decision based on something other than the constant BS spewed by right wing sites like AIM. Thank you.
