Accuracy in Media

When will socialist Democrat Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) be held accountable by the media for his own revolutionary and hateful rhetoric?

“Not Donald Trump, not anyone else will be successful in dividing us based on race or our country of origin,” says Sanders. Meredith Warren, a Republican political analyst and consultant, counters: “But Sanders should take a long look in the mirror. Both he and many of his Democratic cohort, including Senator Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts, are fiercely pushing a campaign message specifically intended to divide America along different lines—economic ones.”

Warren, a graduate of Boston University’s College of Communication, where she majored in broadcast journalism, should be congratulated for drawing attention to the media’s double standard.

On one occasion, during an appearance on Iowa public television, Sanders was asked about promoting class warfare. He turned the question around and insisted that class warfare was being waged by the rich against the middle class and the poor.

The problem for Sanders is that his political philosophy is ultimately based on the notion of the elimination of the bourgeoisie—the middle-class owners of property—as set forth in the Manifesto of the Communist Party, written by Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels. “This person must indeed, be swept out of the way, and made impossible,” it says. This is the theory of class warfare.

In his book, Why Communism Kills: The Legacy of Karl Marx, Dr. Fred Schwarz argued that “The liquidation of the bourgeoisie is an essential step of the path to Communism. This is why Communism must kill.”

In his famous “Time for Choosing” speech in 1964, Ronald Reagan captured the essence and attraction of Marxism, saying, “We have so many people who can’t see a fat man standing beside a thin one without coming to the conclusion the fat man got that way by taking advantage of the thin one.”

American economist Henry Hazlitt said it a different way: “The whole gospel of Karl Marx can be summed up in a single sentence: Hate the man who is better off than you are. Never under any circumstances admit that his success may be due to his own efforts, to the productive contribution he has made to the whole community. Always attribute his success to the exploitation, the cheating, the more or less open robbery of others.”

That is the essence of the Sanders campaign strategy.

In his book, Socialism in America, John L. Bowman writes about envy being one of the driving forces behind socialism: “…the simple desire to want what another has.” He added, “After all the moralizing about justice, freedom from oppression, disparity of wealth, and obligation to help others according to their needs, the truth may be that socialists are just plain envious of those with money.”

Bowman says one reason for socialist envy is that “socialists often lack the ability to make money.” A good example was Marx, the father of communism, who is usually described in glowing terms as a philosopher, journalist, historian, and economist. But “he never earned a living wage and was largely supported by Engels,” notes the entry at biography.com. Paul Johnson’s book Intellectuals, notes Bowman, said that Marx was “unwilling to work at a job, borrowed money to live, and was incompetent with personal finances, all of which led to lifelong money problems and his subsequent hatred of money, money lenders, usury, and capitalists.” Bowman adds, “During the last part of his life, Marx and his family lived in a two-room apartment on Dean Street, near Soho in London in dire poverty.”

Sanders has escaped such a fate because he has been a career politician. We’ve noted that James O’Brien, a political consultant and former publisher of Campaigns & Elections magazine, calculates that Sanders, who has been a mayor, member of Congress and a U.S. senator, has achieved the financial status of a millionaire. He concludes that Sanders and his wife have a net worth in the range of $1.2 to $1.5 million, not the $700,000 or less that is usually reported by the media.

Sanders apparently once performed manual labor on an Israeli commune or kibbutz dedicated to Joseph Stalin. The Times of Israel reported, “Leaving the cabin he shared with a few other American college student volunteers, Sanders would have a quick bite of bread before heading out to the orchard. After 2 1/2 hours of work, he and the other 20 or so volunteers would sit down for a traditional 30-minute Israeli breakfast of tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, butter and hard-boiled eggs…The kibbutz belonged to the Israeli political party Mapam, which in the 1950s had been a communist, Soviet-affiliated faction. Kibbutz members had admired Joseph Stalin until his death, and they would celebrate May Day with red flags. They spoke of controlling the means of production, taking from each according to his abilities and giving to each according to his needs.”

Is this where and how Sanders first became a socialist? Sanders won’t talk about it. The media have asked for details, but he and his campaign won’t respond. AP reports, “Sanders won’t identify the Israeli kibbutz where he briefly volunteered in the 1960s. When reporters found the kibbutz, Sha’ar Ha’amakim in northern Israel, he wouldn’t comment.”

The conclusion is inescapable: Sanders is a hard-core Marxist who preaches class warfare. He calls himself a democratic socialist, but he wants to avoid any mention of communism.

Donald J. Trump has called him a communist, a charge Sanders denies. “He calls me a communist. That’s a lie,” Sanders thunders.

Yet, as we noted in our coverage of one of the Democratic debates, Sanders did not disavow his previous comments in support of the communist dictatorship in Cuba.

Hatred is “the heart of Marxism,” Henry Hazlett said. “This is its animating force. You can throw away the dialectical materialism, the Hegelian framework, the technical jargon, the ‘scientific’ analysis, and millions of pretentious words, and you still have the core: the implacable hatred and envy that are the raison d’être for all the rest.”

Meantime, Communist China has more billionaires than the United States, according to the Hurun Global Rich List 2016. It finds that there are 568 Chinese billionaires, compared to 535 in the U.S.  Beijing has replaced New York as the billionaire capital of the world.

Still, the Constitution of the Communist Party of China declares, “The Communist Party of China is the vanguard both of the Chinese working class and of the Chinese people and the Chinese nation. It is the core of leadership for the cause of socialism with Chinese characteristics and represents the development trend of China’s advanced productive forces, the orientation of China’s advanced culture and the fundamental interests of the overwhelming majority of the Chinese people. The realization of communism is the highest ideal and ultimate goal of the Party.”

Of course, as we’ve argued, the communists use capitalism to create the wealth they couldn’t create through socialism. Such a development is why many conservatives still love the old song by The Who, “Won’t Get Fooled Again,” with the lyrics: “Meet the new boss. Same as the old boss.” Except that the new communist boss is actually worse than the old boss.

No, socialism is the legalization and legitimization of covetousness and greed.

Beginning in the 1970s and into the Reagan years, —the self-denominated Neoconservatives—migrated from the Trotskyite Left of the Democrat party into the old conservative movement and the GOP.

Traumatized by Soviet brutality or anti-semitism luminaries like Norman Podhoretz and Irving Kristol were welcomed by the custodians of the Old Right in the struggle against world communism and collectivism. With endless financial sources, the formerly socialist Neocons soon took control of most of the older conservative foundations, think tanks, and publications.

Through control of “conservative” institutions centered in Washington, D. C., they very soon began to provide experts and advisors to the national Republican Party and its candidates. Their dominance manifested itself in organs such as the Ethics and Public Policy Center, the American Enterprise Institute (AEI), and in publications like Commentary, The Public Interest, and National Review and even AIM. The advent of the Rupert Murdoch media empire, with Fox News television, The Wall Street Journal, The Weekly Standard, and the New York Post cemented this influence in post-Reagan GOP policies and prescriptions.

The principles of the Old Right were replaced with the opposite of those principles. The Neoconservative/GOPe program bears an uncanny resemblance to its older Marxist/ Progressivist internationalist narrative, which was never fully discarded. Neocons and their Republican subalterns have led the American republic into unwinnablewars in the name of international crusades for democracy and global hegemony.

They have enacted global trade and commercial deals that have destroyed American manufacturing and eliminated millions of American jobs, shipping them overseas. Even more, these very same Neocons and their GOP camp followers have endorsed Cultural Marxism in same sex marriage, transgenderism, and feminism, women in the military, etc.,; views which were once considered anathema to historic conservatism.

And these are the citizens for whom the GOP Establishment with its global corporate socialism now increasingly seems more like run-off sewage.

I saw socialism in East Germany before the wall came down. That wall wasn’t there to keep people out. That wall’s only purpose was to keep them in. Under control 24/7.
No Thank you Mr Sanders. Perhaps you should move your old tired commie ass to Cuba and retire. Don’t stop in Florida like everyone else does. Cuba Sir. Perhaps Castro can use your help.

    Message to America (USA).
You found yourselves in the possession of the fairest portion of the earth. So said Abraham Lincoln. This was not your doings. You became the greatest and freest nation the world has ever seen. This was not your doings. Militarily, you became the greatest superpower the world has seen. This was not your doings. So who did it for you? And from what meagre beginnings did you arrive as chief of the nations? And then, what went wrong, and why???
“The Rock, his way is perfect; . . . . They have dealt corruptly with him, they are no longer his children because of their blemish; they are a perverse and crooked generation. Do you thus requite the LORD, you foolish and senseless people? Is not he your father, who created you, who made you and established you? Remember the days of old, consider the years of many generations; ask your father and he will show you; your elders and they will tell you. When the Most High gave to the nations their inheritance, when he separated the sons of men, he fixed the bounds of the peoples according to the number of the sons of God. For the LORD’s portion is his people, Jacob his allotted heritage.
“He found him in a desert land, and in the howling waste of the wilderness; he encircled him, he cared for him, he kept him as the apple of his eye. Like an eagle that stirs up its nest, that flutters over its young, spreading out its wings, catching them, bearing them on its pinions, the LORD alone did lead him, and there was no foreign God with him. He made him ride on the high places of the earth, and he ate the produce of the field; and he made him suck honey out of the rock, and oil out of the flinty rock. Curds from the herd, and milk from the flock, with fat of lambs and rams, herds of Bashan and goats, with the finest of the wheat – and of the blood of the grape you drank wine.
“But Jeshurun waxed fat, and kicked; you waxed fat, you grew thick, you became sleek; then he forsook God who made him, and scoffed at the ROCK of his salvation. They stirred him to jealousy with strange gods; with abominable practises they provoked him to anger. They sacrificed to demons which were no gods, to gods they had never known, to new gods that had come in of late, whom your fathers had never dreaded. You were unmindful of the ROCK that begot you, and you forgot the God who gave you birth. . . . . . . ” [From the Song of Moses. Deuteronomy 32:4-18.]
America, you still don’t get it. You swept God – your ROCK out of the commandments, out of your courts, out of your classrooms, nearly out of your country. You adopted a Roman Catholic revision of the Ten Commandments down to the last Five Commandments of duty to neighbour – the social law without God, of Godless Socialism called Communism. You think you became great, but you were made great. You had it all. You threw it away when you threw out God. Don’t blame Karl Marx – he was an atheistic Jew – he threw God away too, thereby becoming Godless socialist. Blame yourselves and the Roman Catholic Church influence. The abominations such as sorcery (transubstantiation), paedophilia, gay marriage and Sodomy itself, also stem from throwing out the great commandment of “Love, honour and obey God”, ending with “Honour your father (God) and your mother (country).” That is God and country, in that order of allegiance, “So your days may be long in the land” as a civilization (Deut 32:47), the only commandment with a promise. If the social law was thrown out too, adultery, murder, covetousness and false witness – none of which are abominations – would stem from that. Americans you have made yourselves Communist, commensurate with the Roman Catholic influence which your politicians suck up to. This was your own doings. You will rue the day you forgot God to become what you are about to become. This was your undoing. “But we have forgotten God.” So said Abraham Lincoln.
America, you have made yourself an Obama-nation. Deuteronomy 17:15.
    So long America (USSA).

An excellent article, Mr. Kincaid, thank you. I have been wondering, too, when will the brazen old Bern-out Sanders be held accountable for his Big Lies and the hate that is a part of the Democrats’ political DNA going back to the mid 19th century and the Ku Klux Klan? And Sanders, like U.S. Sen. Leahy, was elected by Marxists who usurped Vermont’s primary system decades ago.

The Marxist Critical Theory routinely states that social inequities are a result from an uncaring capitalist system, just like they love to say “A Christmas Carol” and Scrooge is an American holiday classic (bullshit!). However, as Wisconsin Republican U.S. Sen. Robert Kasten stated in 1990: “If we want the traditional family to survive and prosper in this country, we simply have to stop government from oppressing it with unfair and excessive burdens. Since 1955, the basic payroll tax has risen nearly 400 percent … The impact on the family budget has been devastating: From 1955 to 1988, the federal tax burden on middle-income families rose twice as fast as their income. … These excessive taxes have struck at the heart of the American family.”

Phyllis Schlafly, a longtime critic of feminism’s destructive forces, wrote in 1982, “In the days before the federal government took such an active role in regulating employment, one man’s wage could support a wife and family. Instead of progress, this just might be regression to a 19th century economic system.” These massive tax increases have forced mothers from their homes and into the workplace, leaving the care and education of their children to an increasingly Marxist-based state system.

Hate is the essence of national socialism, not real socialism. National socialism is like mixing two scoops, one of any flavor of good ice cream. The other is common dung. The real ice cream cannot do a thing to improve the taste of the dung but we sure as hell know what the scoop of dung can do for any flavor of clean ice cream. And where do we find the real ingredients of national socialism? Mein Kampf. And who wrote that piece of dung in literary form?

  • J. Glenn Hanson

You paraphrase an old and one-sided ruse: socialists never have “bad” intentions; rather, it’s radicals within the groups (e.g., feminists, environmentalists) who do “bad” things. “Mein Kampf” has passages straight out of ignorant Marxist pamphlets and the latter contain much worse. Consider, too, that “Manifesto of the Communist Party” — a real piece of dung, as you might say, was written 75 years before Hitler’s diatribe. Steven, my man, get real, get educated. If you are not unwitting, then try Salon.com instead. It’s more your speed, dude.

  • J. Glenn Hanson

Please do some judicious self-editing before you post again. No one, not even your mama, is going to read much of this, even if it were written with brevity, more diligence and a more concise flow. If you’re deliberately adding rabble to the comment sections, like a Leninist might to dilute communication and meaning, then go to Salon.com.

  • Steven Barrett

Glenn, you’re all heart. Actually, my reading speed’s more attuned to the New Republic, Atlantic and for light reading, Huffpost. For real light reading, anything to do with Townhall and Nat’l Review. Hope that makes your weekend since you really broke my heart by calling me Dude. C’mon, LOL, you must’ve kown “The Dude” is Bill Clinton’s secret service identifying name. (Hound Dog would be more like it.)
It’s Friday so I sure as heck don’t want to ruin anybody’s weekend, even if I’ve been thrown into a state of near mortal shock of moral outrage, which I’ll admit is a fav seflie used by libs to describe themselves in local fishwraps’ letters section; esp. if the fishwraps serve liberal college towns in the northeast. BTW, I am real, and educated, even at a Catholic liberal arts college outside of Miami, St. Thomas University. It’s still, proud to say, offering a very liberal curriculum, which is more than most folks can say about these newer and hardly improved Catholic colleges only a Pio Nono, or Cardinals Raymond Burke and Robert Sarah could love. Now I’ve gotta read that story in Salon where Bernie walked off the stage. LOL, don’t those cowboys out there know this guy took a drubbing by her highness last week?

Bill, I’ve been to Berlin twice shortly after Ulbricht (er, his deputy, Honecker) built the wall and yes, East Berlin’s old Mitte district was a collection of wrecks, even with clumps of grass growing atop what remained of the old ornamental wall toppings. But I’ve never heard of a single person ever complain about Burlington VT looking that shabby after Bernie Sanders took over as its mayor. He took a dying city and turned it into the state’s biggest commercial success.
Now, if you want to see what socialism for the old mill owners and apartment slumlords accomplished, not to mention the rugged individualism the people in old mill cities in western Massachusetts looked like, that’ll give you a better example of the stereotype you’re trying to lay on Sanders. It won’t work. The proof’s in the ice cream in Burlington and in the decay left behind by the capitalist deadbeats in western Mass. who no sooner than they got their tax breaks, took a fast break faster on 1-91 southbound to the Sunbelt. Celtics weren’t the only fast break experts in MA back in those days, esp. in western MA and the Merrimack River Valley.
Business in Burlington, mein freund, ist gut, sehr gut. And all thanks to one guy who fashions himself a “democratic socialist,” which, by the way, were the same kind of socialists on our side of the Wall and Iron Curtain who helped contribute to West Germany’s economic miracle that I was fortunate to have witnessed as a service dependent.

  • BakkenBill

I’m truly happy for the people of New England. Really, I am.
But as for me and my house we would prefer our Republic back any day over Bernies socialism.
And as for free college, well perhaps the educational standards could be raised back to their former level, before they were lowered for affirmative action after integration. Then perhaps everyone wouldn’t need a college degree to know what high school graduates learned only a few generations ago.
I’m all for higher education, provided students meet the requirements based on their knowledge, not race, sex, or nationality.
I am curious just how many college degrees are being used for the intended purpose. Many cant secure an income to cover their loans. So already the tax payers are paying.
I do respect your opinion, the same as I do anti-gunners. However I am not convinced. Maybe I am just a dumb redneck veteran. But Freedom is priceless. Especially when measured against the millions killed and persecuted under socialism.
I will fight for your right to express your opinions Sir, to my death if need be, but I don’t agree.

  • Steven Barrett

BakkenBill, you’re no “… just a dumb redneck veteran,” and you brought up some very valid observations about the cost of college and its overall return worth to those who earned their sheepskins and put them to good use.
You’d be surprised at how similar our thoughts are however widely different they come across in print. I’m a supporter of the Second Amendment, as is Bernie who is taking heat from the Clintonite wing of the Democratic Party that’s even willing to go so far as to cripple the jobs of many innocent law abiding employees of weapons manufacturing companies like Smith and Wesson, Colt, etc. As even Bernie has said in different ways and times, why should they suffer by losing their jobs making something that’s legal, albeit not politically correct. Clinton knows better but she’s not willing to go so far to acknowledge this much. Innocent law abiding store owners should not be held liable for what they legally sold is later illegally used by some creep to kill his bus. partner, drug dealer or wife in a fit of rage. Anymore than a car dealer should be punished for a driver having a nervous breakdown who decides he wants to go and take twenty people in a crowded restaurant with him. Hillary needed more time in Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom to see the real world for what it is, and she won’t get that from her digs in DC or Chappaqua in Westchester Co. , NY.
I at first had some questions about Bernie’s college tuition ideas, but what can it hurt to eliminate the enormous dream-killing interest payments on top of the original bill for attending college? The interest is a killer of entrepreneurial endeavor, far moreso than Obamacare or even the single payer Berniecare idea he’s proposing. I have a daughter who graduated from one of our nation’s best colleges for culinary skills. She received a BA and AB and has done well for herself so far. But in order to get the loan she needed, I had to be a cosigner. I swallowed my worries and so far she’s never let us down. But lots of other college grads who took out loans their parents were willing to cosign for discovered what a stacked deck of cards they were dealt by a lot of Democrats, no less, who made it possible for the government to allow Donald Trump to cash in his dens of iniquity in our bankruptcy courts, but no such protection exists for the very same young people we were encouraged to bring into the world, raise properly and train to become productive members of society. It made no difference whether or not you received an AB, BA or higher, no bankruptcy protections for you kiddos … even if you just got married and your spouse was hit with some very esoteric cancer curable only through the most frighteningly expensive medicines available. The student loan debt alone would prevent a couple that’s been out of college for just a few years that just got hit with this medical crisis, and they’d be barred from using the protections of the bankruptcy courts that all the bigshots like The Donald and other members of our top ten percent of the one percenter class Bernie’s rightfully aiming his justifiable wrath at for all their machinations to protect their smaller but ever richer elite at the great expense of everybody else.
Bernie’s idea, and Hillary’s to a point, is to make sure kids just graduating from college aren’t going to be burdened with additional legal obstacles such as the stripping away of bankruptcy court filing rights. Why is it okay for The Donald to be able to file for bankruptcy on his dens of iniquity and our kids who want to start up shops, restaurants and small firms making useful items, are not able to do so just because they still have college loans to pay back? Ridiculous. After all, what do casinos bring in tow? A hell of a lot more of junk side businesses nobody in their right frame of mind would ever want to see introduced in his or her home town: strip joints, loan sharks, pawn shops, excessive day-loan shops and so forth, not even getting close to drug dealers and drunken bums who only add to the policing budgets and other possible local tax hikes. But the Donald and his ilk can file for bankruptcy, but the couple who just started a dream shop making software for disabled kids, is stuck, literally stuck between hell and eternal debt because they just learned their child has a tumor requiring a very expensive medical regimen not yet covered in full by the government, the very same government their taxes have already been paid into. But the guys who run the casinos along with The Donald can afford to enjoy the full protections of the law against what will be a long twight march into the crushing pressures of never ending interest debt. All because they and their parents (who can’t get off the hook either, for a college loan.
When Bernie speaks of a “revolution” against this kind of institutionalized rigging and stacking the decks, his biggest opponents don’t seem to realize that in sticking with the existing rules, they’re enforcing a form of smothering socialism that Bernie Sanders is dead set against. Only they call it “Capitalism” when in fact, it’s PERPETUAL DEBT SOCIALISM guaranteed to line the coffers of the very few at the mass expense of everybody else forced to “survive” in the games of rugged individualism. It’s really “rigged individualism.”
Enjoyed conversing with you and have a Great Easter after this Holy Week.

Who let this idiot out of college to write this crap? I’ve seen comments board trolls do a better job of shilling for the top 1%. Mr. Kincaid needs to take a look at the statistics showing the insanely top heavy distribution of wealth in this nation, then look up the meaning of “democratic socialism,” just as a primer. He then needs to stop trotting out the old “red scare” propaganda from 60 years ago, if he wishes to be taken seriously.
