Accuracy in Media

Carol Swain, a professor of political science and law at Vanderbilt University, is one of the stars of Dinesh D’Souza’s new movie, “Hillary’s America,” which examined in detail the historical racism of the Democratic Party. It’s a story that hasn’t been told by reporters from the liberal media who keep repeating the mantra that Democrats represent minorities, the poor, the downtrodden and the vulnerable.

The movie highlights the fact that Democratic President Woodrow Wilson attended a screening of the pro-KKK film, “The Birth of a Nation,” in the White House itself.

If you don’t want to believe D’Souza’s facts, consider PBS as a source of information on this particular incident:

“On the evening of March 21, 1915, President Woodrow Wilson attended a special screening at the White House of The Birth of a Nation, a film directed by D.W. Griffith and based on The Clansman, a novel written by Wilson’s good friend Thomas Dixon. The film presented a distorted portrait of the South after the Civil War, glorifying the Ku Klux Klan and denigrating blacks.”

The film includes reenactments of historical events, including an actor playing Wilson at the screening of the film nodding and smiling in approval.

Professor Swain, a black conservative, is shown with D’Souza going through various historical documents to highlight the racism of the Democratic Party, which was then considered the home of white supremacists. Swain was a member of Senator Ted Cruz’s (R-TX) Religious Liberty Advisory Council during the campaign.

Of course, as the title suggests, it’s the modern Democratic Party, under the control of Bill and Hillary Clinton, which is the main subject of the film. In one illuminating part, the origins of the push for “birth control” are traced directly to a campaign to produce a superior white race.

In one reenactment, Margaret Sanger, the founder of Planned Parenthood, is shown speaking to a women’s auxiliary of the Ku Klux Klan. That’s followed by excerpts of a modern-day Hillary speech expressing her admiration for Sanger.

Liberals have tried to play down Sanger’s involvement with the KKK, saying she spoke to a variety of different groups. But Sanger’s own book, The Pivot of Civilization, included references to eliminating “human weeds” and sterilizing “inferior” races.

Sanger, who died in 1966, was a revolutionary Socialist who was sexually promiscuous and dabbled in the occult. A sympathetic biography said she became “rabidly anti-Catholic as she grew older.”

The introduction to the D’Souza film examines Barack Obama’s foreign policy legacy, especially in the face of Russian aggression in Europe and the Middle East and the rise of global Islamic terror. D’Souza’s previous film was “2016: Obama’s America.”

A reenactment in the new film shows Mrs. Clinton as secretary of state watching a video monitor of Benghazi burning and four Americans dying while she does nothing.

One interesting example of shared interests between Obama and Hillary Clinton is shown in their devotion to the ultimate community organizer, Saul Alinsky. Obama was trained by an Alinsky group in Chicago while Hillary wrote her senior thesis on his organizing techniques and met with him. One reenactment shows her actually advising Alinsky, saying radicals should seize control by taking power from within the government, and not just through outside pressure.

Mrs. Clinton’s continued relationship with former President Clinton, a notorious womanizer accused of sexual assault and even rape, is seen as a partnership that exists to benefit both of them with money and power. That’s brought up to date through an interview with Peter Schweizer, author of Clinton Cash, a book just made into a movie. Both the book and movie examine Clinton financial arrangements and business deals with such regimes as that of Putin’s Russia.

The D’Souza movie is marred by the opening, in which D’Souza goes to prison, after having been convicted of violating campaign finance laws. D’Souza wants the public to believe he was singled out in a miscarriage of justice, even though his prosecutor, U.S. attorney Preet Bharara, is now reportedly targeting the Democratic administrations of New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio and Governor Andrew M. Cuomo in wide-ranging corruption probes.

At the time that D’Souza admitted his guilt, Bharara stated, “Following the court’s ruling denying Dinesh D’Souza’s baseless claim of selective prosecution, D’Souza now has admitted, through his guilty plea, what we have asserted all along—that he knowingly and intentionally violated federal election laws.”

Although D’Souza is a flawed messenger, he interviews some informed people with access to hard facts that you rarely find in media treatments about the direction of the modern Democratic Party.

There are references to Donald Trump in the film, but only by showing anti-Trump comments made by top Democrats such as Hillary Clinton herself. It takes no position on the presidential race.

Some of those negative comments from Democrats, who say that Trump is a racist, lose their sting when the racist history of the Democratic Party is examined, and when you consider that Mrs. Clinton still pays homage to such figures as Margaret Sanger. Her pick of Senator Tim Kaine (D-VA), a pro-abortion “Catholic,” confirms her debt to the abortion industry.

By choosing Kaine, Jeanne Mancini, President of the March for Life, said that Mrs. Clinton “has chosen a man who opposes even efforts to protect unborn babies at 20 weeks old and who doesn’t support efforts to ensure that babies born alive after a failed abortion get the treatment they need to live.”

The disproportionate number of abortions of black babies has been labeled “Black Genocide.”

I love how conservative idiots like Kincaid keep pushing the BS talking point that it’s the Democrats who are the racists. They can only do this by pointing out facts from a hundred years ago and lying about events from the last 50 years. No. One. Believes. You.

  • dan disco

Did you see the movie? How about some facts to bolster your position? In my experience it’s the Liberal Democrats who try to distort history and then resort to ad hominem attacks such as the one you just made.

  • sageoftheprairie

Sorry old chap, but I’ve lived longer than you, I’m 84, and have found that when Democrats are not racists, they are racialists. Take your pick, neither is good, but both are typical of Democrat office holders or office seekers.

  • rebeccadewhirst

Democrats are the true racists….Obama himself has hurt his own race more than anyone else in this decade

  • Maggietish

It’s no secret that the Stayes and Cities within the United States that are going bankrupt or on the verge of it had been controlled by Democrats for over 40 years. Why then, after billions of taxpayer dollars that continue to be poured into these States and Cities are their minority’s and poor people still living in abject poverty. What happened to all that money? The Democrats talk a good game but the reality is that they want to keep people in abject poverty and make them dependent on government giveaway programs to make sure that they continue to reelect them and vote Democrats into office so that those benefits continue. That’s not trying to better somebody’s life because the only thing that the Washington career corrupt Democratic politicians are interested in is their own reelections, special-interests, lobbyists and partisan politics. Had the Demicrats cared about minorities and poor people they would’ve done all they could to make their lives better and that’s something they absolutely have not done. Pure and simple the Democrats are racist and they breed racism and hate mongering in order to divide this country and the American people.

And the purpose of all this is for ????? A giant “Nyah article”? True, the Democrats had racists in their past. They still have ’em now. But they’re not in charge of directing policy directions, no matter how hard their detractors will go to almost any lengths to prove otherwise.

But any time the GOP wants to finally and fully disassociate itself from the David Dukes, the Robertsons, and all the various sub organizations working under its “big umbrella” for such dubious causes and social planning schemes (er, scams) such as gated communities, finally telling Congressman Steve King to find some other far off cornfield besides Iowa to peddle his racist pet theories, drop any and all efforts to prevent minority voting so the GOP can damn near guarantee its candidates supporting ideas and programs no self-respecting Black or Hispanic voter would be caught dead, much less alive, voting for . . . well, I think Y’ALL get the bigger picture.

You folks can have all that “Sunbelt strategy,” etc you want to peddle, but it’s the same ol’ tune packaged to look more respectable and less honest than admitting to what LBJ predicted when he signed all the Civil Rights acts in the Sixties … “I just signed over the entire South to the Republicans.”

And how could I forget, y’all can keep n’ shove your Plantation Mentality insofar as paying men and women honest equal wages for honest equal results. Whips are in museums and sharecropping’s a thing of the past. Or haven’t y’all heard.

One thing for sure, the GOP hasn’t gotten the message that it’s been the Democrats who honestly admitted to their dirty deeds of the past, learned from their ancestors’ sins and mistakes and MOVED ON.

  • IronChefSandwiches

You need to go to a dictionary and look up the word “racism”. It’s abundantly clear that you don’t understand the concept. It’s OK, though. Most racists don’t realize what idiots they are.

  • IronChefSandwiches

Nonsense. Go ask all the white nationalists who they identify with.

  • IronChefSandwiches

I wouldn’t watch this piece of garbage if you paid me. No, I read what Kincaid wrote. That’s more than enough evidence to know everything I need.

  • Mesa Mike

i”d also say people who haven’t already should read Liberal Fascism and Utopian Road to Hell by Jonah Goldberg and William J. Murray respectively. There are many good sources out there that back up the claims and assertions.

  • ItsJo

You, are a fool, and just note that Obama and his wife are the MOST RACIST of anyone we’ve seen in the Whitehouse of late, and Kincaid is telling the truth…but as a DemoThug……you LIE.

  • ItsJo

You, would qualify as the biggest Idiot! Blind, Obedient and Controlled by the DemoThugs.

You, and other ‘stubborn fools” won’t watch this film, because for all of you, it’s EASIER to bury your heads in the Sand, and Deny, Deny, Deny.
You are AFRAID OF WHAT YOU’D DISCOVER!

You have no idea what the word “racist” means. Look. In. The. Mirror. Dumbass.

A Short History of Democrats, Republicans, and Racism

The following are a few basic historical facts that every American should know.
    Fact:
The Republican Party was founded primarily to oppose slavery, and Republicans eventually abolished slavery. The Democratic Party fought them and tried to maintain and expand slavery. The 13th Amendment, abolishing slavery, passed in 1865 with 100% Republican support but only 23% Democrat support in congress.

Why is this indisputable fact so rarely mentioned? PBS documentaries about slavery and the Civil War barely mention it, for example. One can certainly argue that the parties have changed in 150 years (more about that below), but that does not change the historical fact that it was the Democrats who supported slavery and the Republicans who opposed it. And that indisputable fact should not be airbrushed out for fear that it will tarnish the modern Democratic Party.

Had the positions of the parties been the opposite, and the Democrats had fought the Republicans to end slavery, the historical party roles would no doubt be repeated incessantly in these documentaries. Funny how that works.

Fact: During the Civil War era, the “Radical Republicans” were given that name because they wanted to not only end slavery but also to endow the freed slaves with full citizenship, equality, and rights.

Yes, that was indeed a radical idea at the time!

Fact: Lincoln’s Vice President, Andrew Johnson, was a strongly pro-Union (but also pro-slavery) Democrat who had been chosen by Lincoln as a compromise running mate to attract Democrats. After Lincoln was assassinated, Johnson thwarted Republican efforts in Congress to recognize the civil rights of the freed slaves, and Southern Democrats continued to thwart any such efforts for close to a century.

Fact: The 14th Amendment, giving full citizenship to freed slaves, passed in 1868 with 94% Republican support and 0% Democrat support in congress. The 15th Amendment, giving freed slaves the right to vote, passed in 1870 with 100% Republican support and 0% Democrat support in congress.

Regardless of what has happened since then, shouldn’t we be grateful to the Republicans for these Amendments to the Constitution? And shouldn’t we remember which party stood for freedom and which party fiercely opposed it?

Fact: The Ku Klux Klan was originally and primarily an arm of the Southern Democratic Party. Its mission was to terrorize freed slaves and “ni**er-loving” (their words) Republicans who sympathized with them.
Why is this fact conveniently omitted in so many popular histories and depictions of the KKK, including PBS documentaries? Had the KKK been founded by Republicans, that fact would no doubt be repeated constantly on those shows.

Fact: In the 1950s, President Eisenhower, a Republican, integrated the US military and promoted civil rights for minorities. Eisenhower pushed through the Civil Rights Act of 1957. One of Eisenhower’s primary political opponents on civil rights prior to 1957 was none other than Lyndon Johnson, then the Democratic Senate Majority Leader. LBJ had voted the straight segregationist line until he changed his position and supported the 1957 Act.

Fact: The historic Civil Rights Act of 1964 was supported by a higher percentage of Republicans than Democrats in both houses of Congress. In the House, 80 percent of the Republicans and 63 percent of the Democrats voted in favor. In the Senate, 82 percent of the Republicans and 69 percent of the Democrats voted for it.

Fact: Contrary to popular misconception, the parties never “switched” on racism. The Democrats just switched from overt racism to a subversive strategy of getting blacks as dependent as possible on government to secure their votes. At the same time, they began a cynical smear campaign to label anyone who opposes their devious strategy as greedy racists.

In the 1960s the Democratic Party changed its strategy for dealing with African Americans. Thanks to earlier Republican initiatives on civil rights, blatant racial oppression was no longer a viable political option. Whereas before that time Southern Democrats had overtly and proudly segregated and terrorized blacks, the national Democratic Party decided instead to be more subtle and get them as dependent on government as possible. As LBJ so elegantly put it (in a famous moment of candor that was recorded for posterity), “I’ll have those niggers voting Democratic for the next 200 years.”
At the same time, the Democrats started a persistent campaign of lies and innuendo, falsely equating any opposition to their welfare state with racism.

From a purely cynical political perspective, the Democratic strategy of black dependence has been extremely effective. LBJ knew exactly what he was doing. African Americans routinely vote well over 90 percent Democratic for fear that Republicans will cut their government benefits and welfare programs. And what is the result? Before LBJ’s Great Society welfare programs, the black illegitimacy rate was as low as 23 percent, but now it has more than tripled to 72 percent.

Most major American city governments have been run by liberal Democrats for decades, and most of those cities have large black sections that are essentially dysfunctional anarchies. Cities like Detroit are overrun by gangs and drug dealers, with burned out homes on every block in some areas. The land values are so low due to crime, blight, and lack of economic opportunity that condemned homes are not even worth rebuilding. Who wants to build a home in an urban war zone? Yet they keep electing liberal Democrats — and blaming “racist” Republicans for their problems!

Washington DC is another city that has been dominated by liberal Democrats for decades. It spends more per capita on students than almost any other city in the world, yet it has some of the worst academic achievement anywhere and is a drug-infested hellhole. Barack Obama would not dream of sending his own precious daughters to the DC public schools, of course — but he assures us that those schools are good enough for everyone else. In fact, Obama was instrumental in killing a popular and effective school voucher program in DC, effectively killing hopes for many poor black families trapped in those dysfunctional public schools. His allegiance to the teachers unions apparently trumps his concern for poor black families.

A strong argument could also be made that Democratic support for perpetual affirmative action is racist. It is, after all, the antithesis of Martin Luther King’s dream of a color-blind society. Not only is it “reverse racism,” but it is based on the premise that African Americans are incapable of competing in the free market on a level playing field. In other words, it is based on the notion of white supremacy, albeit “benevolent” white supremacy rather than the openly hostile white supremacy of the pre-1960s Democratic Party.

The next time someone claims that Republicans are racist and Democrats are not, don’t fall for it.

  • rebeccadewhirst

You need to go see the the movie, Hillary’s America and learn the history of racism and which party starting with Andrew Jackson the firs democrat president started it with the Trail of tears with the American indians of which I share the blood of.

  • Gz7

Iornychef doesn’t need to see the movie because he thinks he already knows everything. That’s why his posts are so ignorant.

  • Grandhuff

    Bravo! VERY well stated!

  • Grandhuff

Last I checked, Clinton Cash was no longer available on Breitbart, but you can watch it on youtube. I dare you! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7LYRUOd_QoM

  • Julie Ann

you know what I am DEFINATELY one of those racists that you are accusing everyone else of being and guess what? I am PROUD OF IT! It’s not a criminal offense to be racist and frankly that term “racist” has lost its sting! When anyone says, “you’re racist” I say, yeah, so what?

  • Julie Ann

You are an idiot! It is you, Obama, SHARPTONS, holder, BLM, etc. who have turned otherwise non-racist people into racists, and besides I can think of a lot worse things to be called racist so that word does not bother me one bit, so now what are you leftists going to come up with as another bad word to call us since racist is no longer an offensive term to us anymore. We have every reason to be racist now!

  • Rosemary Martin

The democrats formed the KKK and the true repubicians never were part of it. The white supremacy is also a democrat/hitler thing. God knows the truth, so should you.

  • Steven Barrett

Thank you for rephrasing one of the biggest half-truths in American history. Do I have to mansplain the rest of it to you Dearie? Hell, lady, to paraphrase one of our best Independent politicians, Jesse Ventura, I ain’t got time to waste.
